XML and everything that goes with it (XPointer, XQuery, XSLT, etc)

I am going to have a load of questions regarding it. I am working on making a SMF theme built on XML, but I want to try a WP theme first. I am almost done, but I need to figure some stuff out and make the node names a little more "standard".

First question: How would I check if a node exists and if it does, call a template. Something akin to the following

Access is denied? I just logged out and it still shows the XSL file.

It was because of joshuadickerson.com trying to access the stylesheet on www.joshuadickerson.com

Now I am trying to figure out how to get something like disable-output-escaping working on all browsers.
