We are currently working on a version for SMF 2 Beta 4.0, which is currently a fairly stable alpha version. Hopefully sometime in the near future we should be able to release a version for SMF 2 Beta.

simpleportal v2.0.4
No other mods or themes installed


This happens whenever I try to modify or delete a category, html block, and I suspect anything else similar.
I have spent hours researching this error and have tried using .htaccess to turn off any sort of mod_security, which I do not believe exists in the first place. The server api runs with CGI (suphp) and I have options to use php.ini files but nothing in my phpinfo tells me that mod_security is the case: hxxp:lasvegasjournals.com/phpinfo.php [nonactive]
As you can see, session.use_trans_sid is "0" which is older suggested fix that seems not to apply either.
I can pm someone the admin login info if you'd like to see for yourself. Thanks in advance for any help.

It isn't the number of mods that feelingshehides has that counts, its the fact that he's trying to install it on a completly different version of SMF.

As Eliana said on the SimplePortal.net website, I don't believe that this error is related to SimplePortal, try asking in the correct support forum.

rolf... didnt notice that...but yet the number of mods also affects it as the modified codes are all over the place and hence those  problems can be caused..

Thank you for that link, I have been making some progress by getting it to work on another similar hosting plan, so you are right about it NOT being mod-specific. I'll come back to edit those posts to confirm that after the fix. I have to compare some configuration settings.

wizeguy17, I've seen this issue before, and it's ALWAYS related to server configuration. There's little that the SimplePortal team can do to help with your issues. That's best left up to SMF, hence why I gave you the link here.

That's the annoying mod_security problem. If .htaccess doesn't work, contact to your host. We know the fix at the mod end, but it needs some time to implement it. Though, in the future you will have the same problem but with other mods. I suggest better get that mod_security disabled.

I got a question. A lot of users post pictures (as attachment in the post). So if you watch the topic you see the picture. With SP I can not see the pictures on the frontpage.

Is there a way to edit the files so also on the frontpage it displays the pictures?

What theme are you using?
Adding a forum button would involve editing your index.template.php file.

If it has its own index.template.php file you will need to edit it so the button is added. I cant help you with that though.

I am sorry for the unclearance, I don't mean a block but an article. If you make a post and make it an article everything goes good except it doesn't show the attachment (image) on the frontpage but only in the post. Is it possible that it shows the image (included as an attachment) also in the article?

Having trouble using this with membergroups?  I just made 3 new membergroups and copied the same permissions the regular one had and none of the new groups can see the portal.  They see the portal page but none of the blocks show up.

Any ideas?
