What is the blank bar at the top of that link that makes the blocks line up? Could you tell me how to do that instead of altering the code.

Thanks.
What blank bar?

Can you provide a screenshot?

It's at the top of this url

http://simpleportal.net/index.php?board=11.0

I am guessing you have your AD BLOCKER software turned on.  Turn it off and look at that page.  That "blank bar" is where an ad is served up to those folks who are still living in the year 2001 without ad blocking software.

;)

simon36

Yes, I turned it off and there was an advert in there!

That click-through revenue is important. SimplePortal runs at a loss.

But that's OT.  You cannot count on blocks being just the right size to make title bars line up.  You'd need some way to make them line up, and the templates have not been written that way.

Thank you, is that something that could be considered for a future version? Make the top blocks line up with the top of the message list?

Angelina Belle

That would be nearly impossible, because you cannot count on the exact height of the stuff above the title bar in the message list.
I suppose you could look into changing the  point in the theme where the simpleportal stuff is inserted, so "that stuff" all happens BEFORE all the blocks.

I have a small problem with this mod.

It seems there is an extra link below the container with another Simple Portal copyright..

Is this suppose to be there? If not can I get an answer on how to remove it?

To see it for yourself go here - http://nbktwitch.me/forum/

I should also note that the copyright is also in the footer like it is suppose to be.

TheListener

Have you looked in your default theme to see if it shows there?

Angelina Belle

I see

Yep.  The second one is almost invisible.  It's like something was done twice.
Can you enable the default theme?

Did this problem start after you upgraded SMF or SimplePortal?

Or did this start the first time you installed SimplePortal?

Hello,

I've been trying to install this on a localhost server (wamp) just to test it out.
For some reason it returns me the following error:

Any recommendations are welcome since I'd love to try out this mod.
Thanks you.

p.s. it is installed on a fresh and new smf.

Does this happen during install, or afterwards?  It sounds as though SSI.php is being required or included more than once.

bearstreet

if we want to display staff page using simple portal, why is it that it shows only admin?
What if I want to include some particular membergroup also in the staff page?

Am I missing something or this staff page on simple portal is meant to be that way only?
Dont do drugs, coz if you get caught u will go to prison, and drugs are real expensive in prison
:P

Ask me Maths Questions

Angelina Belle

Correct.  That is how the staff block has been designed.
The staff block on simple portal shows only admins, global moderators, and local moderators.
If you would like that block to show something different, you may customize it.

This has been discussed several times at simpleportal.net.  Please try a search there, and see if you turn up what you need.
