Does this work with smf 1.1.6? I tried it and it errors out on me.  Not sure what to do at this point.
thanks

sure it works

if you specify the errors you got, u can get help.

Greetings!

The first time I noticed this error, I decided to ask in an other thread.
Now it seems, that this thread fits better and that this problem is documented here already.
Maybe my description will help to find a solution.

You will find my first description here: Re: YouTube BBCode v2.3

And now again, to keep a useful structure.

I have tested with SMF 1.1.4, 1.1.5 and 1.1.6.

I have installed the YouTube BBCode v2.3 mod.

After that I have installed the Lightbox mod Version 1.5 and noticed the error. Than have changed the Version to 1.6, with the same effect.

Error description:
The IE won't open a thread which contains a youtube movie when the lightbox mod is installed.
The translation of the error, see attached image, is maybe Failure to open http: //url operation aborted.
Both mods are working as expected, if the other one isn`t installed.
The Lightbox mod is working as expected if the YouTube mod is installed.

This only happens with the IE.
I tried it with IE Version 6 under XP and IE Version 7 under Vista.
(Both with "normal" secure settings and as insecure as possible.)
Firefox 2 / 3 show the thread correct.
Google Chrome show the thread correct.
Haven't tested with Opera.

Temporary solution:
karlbenson sent some ideas for a workaround, here: Re: YouTube BBCode v2.3.

So I tried to run his Integrate Lightbox 1.4.
This version is working together with the youtube mod.

Now it seems obvious that there is a (maybe small) change in the lightbox code or in the java script part. At the moment it ok for me to run the old lightbox version, but I think that it would be nice to find a solution for this problem and avoid it in a future release (or earlier?).

Thanks for you attention.

Great mod.... works perfect on new attachments but not old ones.... I also notice that it causes IE to fail.  Any work around for this?

Could not find an answer doing a search.  Using SMF 1.1.6 and the newest version of Lightbox.

Thanks
~Broc

Edit:  Never mind, found the problem.....      rateTopic is not compatible with this mod.  Once uninstalled, this mod worked just fine. :)

Is there any instructions on making this work with TinyPortal, like on this page?

ianus

Greetings!

No need for any instructions imho.
The site you mentioned use to show threads on the frontpage. Look into the Admin settings of the TP and you will find the frontpage settings.
If an image is shown in a thread, and the thread is shown on the frontpage, the lightbox feature will work.

Well, now to something differend.
Is there any supported from the author or is this mod dead?

My site also show threads on the front page. However, Lightbox won't work on the front page, only the boards. :/

Is there a place to set the maximum file size that can be opened by the lightbox?

I think I've made a bit of a mistake.  I unistalled karlbenson's 1.3 version which was working fine under SMF 1.1.6 (under three themes) to upgrade to Quake's 1.6 version.

1.3 Reported as uninstalling successfully and 1.6 reported as having installed successfully.

Now however the lightbox doesn't appear to do anything under the default smf profile.  I've checked to see if the automatic has matched the manual install instructions which it does.  Even uninstalled and tried a reinstall, also tried manually for the other themes.  No go.

Am I missing something or is this just not working?

These are resized images...  when I click on them something looks like it trys to start up in the centre of the screen for a fragment of a second and then the image opens up full size but not in the groovy lightbox window - just top left in a standard white background page...

Sounds like this is the same error Saneone was having in: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=233637.msg1649171#msg1649171

If I remmember correctly there must be some javascript files included in the package. They must go to your themes root directory.

Themes/default/
Themes/xxx/
etc...

I was having a similar problem but when I put the .js files under the theme folder it worked correctly.

I am not sure but just check. It might take only a minute or so.
You know you want to use it... So use it.

Any possibility of a 2.0 Beta 4 update? I've tried using the current version but several sections fail the pre-installation check.

Hello, first off I would like to say, sorry for the delay in my posts. A few things have kept me from posting:

1) My wedding, I posted not too long ago about my wedding (July 26), then the honey moon.

2) The city I live in forced me to hook up to city sewer RIGHT after my wedding and honey moon. (by Aug 31) I had to come up with the money then do all the work myself.

3) For some odd reason I do not get notifications about new replies in this thread.

All this things have slowed down my posting here and the development of this mod. Now that I'm starting to get back into a normal working habit again I'll try to keep updated with this thread. I also plan on releasing a shadowbox mod as a lot of the requests here are for advanced features that lightbox does not offer and shadowbox does. Again, sorry for the lack of post. I plan on keeping you guys updated as much as I can. :)

Hey..  congrats on your marriage mate
Wish the best for you and your family :)
I look forward to your shadowbox mod.
Cheers

thanks for nothing i got it going, they (the smf staff here) should put up a warning at the download page that this mod creator no longer offers support and to use at own risk.

I am having this same error. I think my theme is a bit outdated. I am using Neon by Tippmaster

I have placed all the javascript files and css on my theme's directory.

It works fine with the default theme, but not with Neon.

Please help me.

Thanks folks for trying to help me with this one.  I still must be missing something checked in

themes/default and I have

mootools1.11.js
slimbox.js
slimbox.css

interestingly they were set to file attribute 666 - set them to full access 777 and tried still no joy.
Replaced them with ones from the download and retried still no good - pasted them into my themes root directory /forum/themes and that doesn't work either are those the only three I need?

Antechinus

Hey Quake, I had a question from someone who is using one of my themes with your mod. I suggested he should ask you for advice.

If you are sure that you copied those 3 files on each themes folder and still no go then I am sorry but this script or your themes might not %100 compatible with the SMF 1.1.6.

Please give us an update as soon as you resolve the problem. : )

Thank you...

Any chance to make this work with SMF Media Gallery?
The images opens in a new tab instead of in Slimbox. :/ Would love if anyone could fix this or tell me how to.
The direct image links in SMF Media Gallery looks like this:
http://chanzi.be/MGalleryItem.php?id=43

EDIT: Nao @ SMF-Media.com, co-maker of SMF Media Gallery said this:
QuoteI'm sure he'll update his mod to manage default SMG URLs. Just tell him he can use a regexp of that kind: "%action=mgallery;sa=media;id=[0-9]+%"...
Or if he needs a complete URL -- "%'.$scripturl.'?action=mgallery;sa=media;id=[0-9]+(?:;(thumb|preview|icon))?%"
I think that should do... If he uses regular expressions, of course!

My site [nofollow] also show threads on the front page. However, Lightbox won't work on the front page, only the boards. :/

Same for me, I've been using threads as my frontpage news posts for a while now.  Lightbox works when I'm in the boards, but not on the frontpage.  Highslide JS will work on the frontpage, but highslide is still not as complete as lightbox mod.
