No, it will/should be fine... (I haven't tested it, though.. suppose I will now, just unplug the ethernet cable.)

That's even better news. I do check the admin page frequently. I wondered if you guys were still updating that info. I haven't seen anything for a while. Perhaps you should consider even posting an update that you are working on this project. I didn't know until I came back to the YaBBSE forum that any changes had been made.

Anguz

hmm... if they mention it now, they'll have many yabbse users asking for the release date too... it'll probably be better to announce it when the public beta is out :P

I've seen it go down before. it behaves fine. it just says some error message like unable to connect or something to that effect.

What about when the forum is installed on a corporate Intranet where internet access is firewalled? In YSE this would take forever to time out since the firewall would just drop the packets.

[Unknown]

No, it would behave the same as if www.simplemachines.org were down in this case, so it should be fine... just some reduced functionality.

Ok but....

Today is Jan,12 2004....

And i don't see the final free version.

Do you want they give to us a final date ?

Excuse my Little English

Bas

I agree....is there any date known?
Greetings Bas.

Jeff Lewis

If there was a known date it would be posted in this board...we're working hard everyday trying to get things done and recently have sent a changelog to our Charter Members for the next release which means we're getting closer.

Also, when we do finally release our first public package, it will be a release candidate - not a final version.

Just out of curiousity, how many of the developers have kids?

Inquiries of "Are We There Yet?" have gone from "Don't Make Me Pull Over", to the automatic "Pull Over And Whup The Kiddies" (locked thread)...

The parallel is overwhelming....especially since I have five of them...

Not sure if Compuart has any but I have one. Some of the other team members have children as well...
