That's seem to be an issue about language strings. Check if they are in their place.

Does the new version of the mod take care of this problem because I have no clue what I've been instructed to do

I just tried an install of PM Informer 2.0 on the core theme of SMF 1.16 and got an Install Actions Error with a test failure of ./Sources/ModSettings.php (777).

Any ideas?
