After upgrading to 0.7.7 Alpha I seem to have lost my side window with the archive.  I have the settings checked to show the side window (or unchecked really to not hide it) and have archive checked and it doesn't show.

Any ideas?  Maybe I missed some setting somewhere or something

dry3210

Actually, it would seem it won't let me post writings either.  It just clears everything out and says I need a title and body entered even though I did.

I checked the error log and woah..

And several hundred pages of that and more.

I uninstalled the old version before installing the new but perhaps I need to clear out the database also...which means I'll lose all my previous blogs

You updated the files yes?  Also... what version did you upgrade *from*?

PHP version?

PfalzNacht

Ist it possible to use php in a sidebar?

I want to show with SSI the recent_posts and other stuff?

Or can we make this as a little plugin?

I'll get to work on that... I want to make it a standard feature (allow for php or html or both in articles, comments, side windows, custom blocks).  There will be permissions for this of course.

As a side note... I finally fixed that weird Session Verification failed error that was occurring when importing SMF boards :)

PfalzNacht

What do you think how long do you need to make php and/or html possible in a block?  ;)

Charles Hill

Well I haven't made the custom blocks (for the community page) yet.  And I still have a couple tricky bugs to tackle (including better compatibility with Internet Explorer ack!).  Couldn't say how long it'll take...

I uninstalled it through SMF and deleted the zCommunity folder then uploaded the new zCommunity folder and installed the new 0.7.7 Alpha.  I can't remember the previous version but the blog was only maybe 2-3 weeks old tops so I'd assume it was whatever version before 0.7.7 Alpha

Oh very cool, that. You mean for 0.7.8, though ?

Kindred

hmmm....  0.7.7 still having some "saving" issues.

I can not change the default access permissions for blogs...   nor can I change the actual blog's access permissions.

So, the only people who can access the blogs right now are guests, and 3 of the 12 member groups (oddly enough).  Regular members can not access any of the blogs.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

Some of the stuff in zCommunity/zc.php needed rearranging.  I've been doing a lot of testing as different member types with different permissions and as guests in all 4 modes.  Think I got all the kinks worked out.  Fixed a ton of little things and a couple big things.

A lot of the dhtml stuff like 'view description' I have hidden from IE users because IE doesn't like to do some things properly.

Yes that fix will be in 0.7.8

Just a question: will you release upgrade scripts with alpha versions,or we will have to wait until betas or RCs?

Charles Hill

Still shuffling things around and making large changes, so no there won't be upgrade scripts.  There are very few changes made to the SMF files anyways, so it shouldn't be horribly inconvenient.

I'm currently running Blog Community 2.0.2 -- If I remove that package and install zCommunity, will it recognize my existing blogs?

Ummm...I'm really stumped on what I'm doing wrong. I reinstalled the entire forum on my site to try to fix this error, but my efforts were in vain. I'm getting this error when I try to click the "Blogs" tab.

Your old blogs will become regular boards in your forum, and you'll have to use the import SMF boards function in the control panel to import them to the zCommunity database tables.  I would hold off on using zcomm on a production site, though (especially if you've got blogs with substantial amount of content).

dry3210

Well I installed it on a "test" site I have that has SMF 1.1.8. Tiny Portal and SMF Media Gallery installed and I have the same issues..

1. Lots of the same errors
2. I type in a topic and body and post and it clears it and says I need to enter those things in

Thanks for your reply, Charles.  I have a replica site that I am going to test with using this release, but I certainly understand your reservations about moving forward in production with the current iteration.
