Hello Charles I have a couple of questions, a couple minor and one major:

First before I do anything else like upload the latest version etc.  I will ask the major question.

I am trying to narrow down the source of an issue I am having at my board:
http://bandalumni.startlogic.com
The problem is as follows.  I (and others report this as well) open a browser window (I use IE7) and log into my site.  If I then subsequently close out of the browser and open a new browser I wind up seeing the following problems.
1.  I can not access the admin center.
2.  I can not reply to posts.
3.  I can not log out.
4.  It has also been reported to me that registering is sometimes an issue.
the error I receive is a Session Verification error.
To clear this issue I can clear my temp internet files.

I apologize if this is not an issue with your mod but I am trying to narrow it down and I am thinking it is either your mod or possibly a conflict with the TP mod.  I also saw you mention something about a Session Ver error and was wondering if I finally found my answer.

I also have a couple minor questions well one maybe.  If I do upgrade my zComm to latest version are the manual instructions same as for previous version? I have a custom skin I am inserting the bits into.  Thanks for all your help.

Maybe I should just install the previous version and hope that works again as it didn't have any issues for me and displayed nicer.  Only....I don't have it saved anywhere.  Anyway I can get it?

No you shouldn't be having issues like that because of zcomm... that's most likely a problem with another mod you've installed.  The session verification error was occurring when importing an smf board to the zcommunity database tables.  I am pretty sure the installation package for zcomm's 0.7.8 will be the same as 0.7.7... can't be 100% sure on that because I don't have time to read every line of code in it at the moment.

Patience... almost done with 0.7.8... have to finish incrementing the import board function and one last bug I have to fix...

SMF 2.0 RC1, 0.7.7alpha

Ok. in addition to fopen and other file related error messages:

I have the permissions issue (changes to group permissions are not saved... The check boxes get checked, but are cleared as soon as you clikc "save"... and the data is not written to the database.   I have manually edited the permissions in the database, but those are not reflected in the checkboxes either.

Also, when a user tries to delete an article in his personal blog, it says that not allowed to del community news..
and I'm not allowed to edit community news either...
When I try edit article it says :
You are not allowed to %s.

Which is true, for permissions... I am not using community news, so all permissions for that are disabled... but what he is doing are rleated to his personal blog articles, not community news articles.

-edit-- I think I may know why I am getting so many file errors...    under 0.7.6, I added a theme called greyscale. when I upgraded to 0.7.7, the directory is there... and the database references the greyscale theme, but there is no option in the blog admin to use the greyscale theme or even to add a theme...

Ummm...I'm really stumped on what I'm doing wrong. I reinstalled the entire forum on my site to try to fix this error, but my efforts were in vain. I'm getting this error when I try to click the "Blogs" tab.
Page request Error
The page you have requested does not exist.

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?
Ok, I found a fix...of sorts...If I specify something else along with the URL, the main blog page will come up. For example, http://whatninja.com/index.php?zc will not work, however, http://whatninja.com/index.php?zc;theme=2 will work. Any suggestions on a real fix though? Please?

0.7.8 Alpha now available.  Tested on fresh install of SMF RC1 and SMF 1.1.8, worked great.

Charles,

I still have the one problem:
-- Global blog settings are not saved.  Some are, some are not, but the default permissions definitely are NOT saved. The checkboxes get checked, I clikc save and the checkboxes become unchecled. In addition, the checkboxes for not reflect the manual database entries I was forced to add in order to make permissions work.

The fopen, fwrite and fclose issues seem to have been due to a mi-set of the new theme that I added. I have not seen then since the install of 0.7.8 and the correction of the theme installation.

question on permissions for users who belong to multiple groups:
Are permissions inclusive (i.e. if ONE of the groups that a user belongs to HAS a permission does that mean that the user will have that permission) or exclusive (i.e. if ONE of the groups that a user belongs to DOES NOT HAVE a permission does that mean that the user will not have that permission)

I tested permissions and global settings, and had no problems saving them on a fresh install of SMF 2 RC1.

Yes @ the fopen stuff.. If some of the themes or plugins you have installed have the same names for their IDs or settings IDs, then the files are rewritten where necessary to avoid any future conflicts.  I still have to run some tests on these functions to get them to work properly in all cases.

Permissions should be inclusive.

What is happening?  Do you have any other mods installed?  Please try to provide more information when asking for support.

Does now html and php works in a custom side block?

No not yet, sorry.  This last version was more of a large bug fix.

robinrobin

So there are no upgrade instructions?

If i make custom changes to the files i have to re-do them every time because You're not letting us know which files You changed.

Will all articles go away too every time we upgrade?

The info in your database will be unchanged when you upgrade.  This is still in an alpha version... There are too many changes for me to keep track.  If I were to do that, this would takes a very very very long time.  I would wait on making too many custom themes or modifications of your own until later versions.

Figured out what problem you were referring to... fixed it :)

A large problem was discovered with the detecting of missing columns for a few of the database tables.  I figured it out.  Also I fixed the few other minor bugs that were discovered.

I'll have 0.7.9 ready in a bit.

~Killer~

0.7.9 out :)

On a clean install it isn't working for me, it just throws up an error (can't see it now, deleted the files, will test again in a bit). And do I have to overwrite all of my files, meaning all edits/mods I'll have to do again?
