Yes, I know about this. But did not find any good solution to it. Making the table to 75% work, but then the cell with the avatar will have a gap betwen the avatar and next column with poster info..but if you can live with that then its OK. ;)

Miraenda

Thanks so much for providing this new update.  The quotes look great in it as well as the choice to have "Recent Topics" instead of "Recent Posts"  I was looking on your site Bloc to see if you have a PayPal link or anything.  I know you provide these themes for free, but I would like to donate money for how much work you put into these terrific themes.  Simplicity really rocks

Thank you. ;D

I will see if I can provide with a Paypal button up there.

Edit: There is one now.

Update:

- Full poster-info in a similar way to the original is available. Set it in admin/current theme settings. Also the jumpbox has been moved down there, along with moderation buttons a second time.

Am I just not seeing this? I can't seem to find the jumpbox now in individual threads and have to scroll to the top to go to the other forums.

My forum is at http://anythingeverything.org/ and I've created a Guest login:

User: TestUser
Password: fortesting

I did the upgrade yesterday afternoon to the newest version of the theme, re-added the .css color changes manually and the quill graphic in the upper right, then added a Chat link in the index.template.php without removing any coding, so I am highly doubtful my minimalistic changes should have removed the jumpbox from appearing...

bloc

(blush) I have seem to forgot the jumpbox when viewing posts the "old" way - with the avatar to the right etc. Updated the archives with the fix now.

Thanks, Miraenda , for reporting this. If you want to correct it, just update Display.template.php. And if you have modified that one already, I can provide the code needed to be in , just say the word.

Miraenda

Thanks for updating this so quickly, and I'm just glad it wasn't something I'd done to affect it displaying.  I've updated mine and everything is back to normal now

Since I was looking at the navigation last night due to the jumpbox not being there, I did have a couple other suggestions if viable to include at some point (if not, they are not a huge necessity either):

1. A breadcrumb trail at the bottom mimicking the one at the top.

2. The number of reads and pages at the bottom mimicking the one at the top, so that it is easier to switch pages at the bottom as well without having to scroll up once inside the thread.

I have a screenprint showing where these could be placed if added so that they would hopefully not affect the layout itself (these are screenprints off my own changed theme though, so the colors are slightly different):

Thanks for your consideration and again for the quick update made to the jumpbox deal. ;)

bloc

It actually looked very nice with the link-tree/breadcrumb down there... I may include it when getting it validated - which is primarily the next step.

And thank you for the kind words.  :)

Ok I've been messing around with the design, didn't think I did too much to it, but now I'm getting some rather strange errors. You may not be able to provide a solution from just the error message, but I'll give it a shot anyway. If not I'll have to start again with the original files.

First on going to any profile I get this:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare template_theme() (previously declared in /usr/www/forums3d/data/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code:1085) in /usr/www/forums3d/data/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 1361

The stats page is completely screwed and gives this at the top:

owrap">', $txt['average_posts'], ': ', $context['average_posts'], ' ', $txt['average_topics'], ': ', $context['average_topics'], ' ', $txt[665], ': ', $context['num_boards'], ' ', $txt[656], ': ', $context['latest_member']['link'], ' ', $txt['average_online'], ': ', $context['average_online'], ' ', $txt['gender_ratio'], ': ', $context['gender']['ratio'], '  ', $txt['smf_stats_3'], '  ', $txt['smf_stats_4'], '   '; foreach ($context['top_posters'] as $poster) echo ' '; echo '
', $poster['link'], ' ', $poster['num_posts'] > 0 ? '' : ' ', ' ', $poster['num_posts'], '
'; foreach ($context['top_boards'] as $board) echo '

In the body of the forum where the stats should appear it says: An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to load the 'main' template.

And in the new/reply/edit post screen I get this at the top:

1px solid #000000; padding: 5px; width: 98%; height: 344px; overflow: auto; }'; if ($context['browser']['needs_size_fix']) echo ' @import(', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/fonts-compat.css);'; // As you may expect - we need a lot of javascript for this... load it form the separate files. echo '

', $txt['spellcheck_change_to'], '
', $txt['spellcheck_suggest'], '

along with buttons and text boxed that appear to be to do with the spell check, like ',txt[spell_change],' ',txt[spell_change_all],' ',txt[spell_ignore],' etc. Spell Check is not supported on my forum and is disabled in the admin screen?

Any clues about any of this, or should I start again?

This is something I'm going to try to recreate on my customised version for my site, if I can work out how!!!

I am not sure, Apnomis..but it sounds like some missing apostrophes perhaps - giving errors in PHP and probably all kind of other errors. If you send me the files you have modified I can at least find out what gives errors.

Thanks for the offer, what I'll do is try again with a fresh theme, and spend more time testing it inbetween each change so I can see where I'm going wrong. If it continues to give me trouble I may have to take you up on your offer!

I am still trying to learn the basics of PhP, it's not the most forgiving language in the world, one little comma out of place and you get a page of errors!

Hi Bloc,
Tks for the the update of simplicity theme. However after I updated I got the following errors:

Notice: Undefined index: forum_width_left in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 75

Notice: Undefined index: forum_width_middle in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 75

before the heading

and

Warning: template_main(SSI.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 8

Fatal error: template_main(): Failed opening required 'SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 8

After the head layout. Why this happening. I had no  problems with the previous version. Tried to install and reinstall again and no success.

Fernando

bloc

Have you tried replace all the old files..and removing any which is NOT in the current Simplicity archive?

fermachine

Block
I fixed the errors:

Warning: template_main(SSI.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 8

Fatal error: template_main(): Failed opening required 'SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 8

By using the boardindex.template file. However the error:

Notice: Undefined index: forum_width_left in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 75

Notice: Undefined index: forum_width_middle in /home/httpd/vhosts/saudeemrede.net/httpdocs/forum/Sources/Load.php(1040) : eval()'d code on line 75

Still appearing. The error that you fixed was a major one and was locking the forum. This one seems to be just a esthetic's one.

Fernando

I deleted the hole simplicity directory and reinstalled againg.

Tks for the fast reply.

Dont worry,
I upload a new load.php file and the error disappeared.  This forum rocks!!!!!

Tks all folks for the marvelous support.

Just to let you know it's all working now. Not sure what happened, but I removed all my themes and themes in progress from the server. I then installed SMF 1.0.2, and installed the latest download of your default theme, tried it and got no errors, so then in order to issolate the problem with my modified version I overwrote the default simplicity theme with my version 1 files at a time. Before I knew it I had installed all my modified files and still didn't get any errors! Not sure what fixed it but maybe there was a problem elsewhere in the forum files that was fixed when I updated to 1.0.2!

I think it should be ready for launch by the end of the week. Thanks again for your help Bloc, I'll post a link to my modified version when I launch it, there may be one of two things you'd like to take on board for Simplicity (unlikely I know, but there are a couple of useful changes I've made IMO!)

bloc

Looking forward to seeing it. And good luck with the site. :)

ElLizzardo

I've searched for this, but could not seem to see anything related...

On Simplicity Theme only, the "Mark ALL messages as read"  and "Mark Message as Read" functions aren't working...still have "New!" flags by all posts.

Had this problem for a while. Did a whole clean reinstall of the entire SMF board and all themes, yesterday, after the board crashed, and still having the same situation.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
BTW, users of my forum agree the Simplicity theme rocks and rules  8)
