Since the "shortcuts: hit alt+s to submit/post or alt+p to preview" comment above the "Post" and "Preview" buttons apply to Internet Explorer and not  to Firefox (and maybe others), would it be worth it to write a Java (or other) "browser-type" switch... or maybe just not include the shortcut in the next version?

Those shortcuts work in all browsers. (except firefox since they made this change http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=122411 )

Well, to go with his earlier request, can we show alt+shift+p and alt+shift+s when FF2/3 is detected? It doesn't sound like such an unreasonable request, just needs one more $txt variable and a ternary operator in the echo.
