Link to Mod

This modification will allow you to redirect the users when they activate their account to an url of your choosing. Note, you must set the "Method of registration employed for new members" to ''Member Activation" at Registration-Settings in the Acp of your forum.

The mod adds 2 settings at the Acp of your forum-Features and Options. One is to enable/disable the mod and the second is to enter the url to the redirection when your users activate their account. That can be an internal or external url.

Thanks for this extra option!
Good for a welcome message or something like that.

Thanks for your feedback qtime :)

Yes, that is the whole idea. Or for ex, if you want first that the new users read the rules of your forum to have an idea as to what is going going and what is expected to them, then this mod might come in handy :)

LT07

This mod is just what I want to display the rules page after they register, unfortunately it installs but does not display in the admin section of my forum. I'm using 2.0 beta 4

Any idea what the problem might be (signup is set to instantaneous)

LT07

Doh sorry I should learn to read more carefully :)
Is there any way to get it to work with instant signup?

SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPERB It works

You wouldn't believe the trouble I've gone to to make a forum visible until after they make their first post, this is much easier.

Thanks for a great mod :) :) :)

Thanks for this mod!!!

Spanish traslation:

./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.spanish.php

// The start of the language strings
$txt['enable_activate_account_redirection'] = 'Activar mod activate account redirection';
$txt['activate_account_redirection_url'] = 'Ingresar la url completa. <div class="smalltext">A esta dirección se van a redireccionar los usuarios cuando activen su cuenta</div>';

./Themes/default/languages/Help.spanish.php

// The start of the language strings
$helptxt['enable_activate_account_redirection'] = 'Aca puedes activar o desactivar el mod "activate account redirection" .';
$helptxt['activate_account_redirection_url'] = 'Acá puedes ingresar la dirección a donde se van a redireccionar los usuarios cuando activen su cuenta.  La dirección puede ser interna o externa.';

Does this mod work for 1.1.7? When I installed it I see the check box and blank url box but I see no explanatory text to the left of those items in the admin menu - strange!

Itried this mod on 1.1.8v and it seems not to work. After clicking on activation link in email it takes you back to log into the forum. Did I not get the install right?

Thanks

Did you enter the url in the acp, to where you want to redirect your users after they activate their account?

bburg5

Yes, I added the URL to the confirm paid subscriptions page, Changed to the member activate and still only get to the activation successful log in page.

Thanks

bburg5

Is it even possible for a new members to redirect to their profile page (after activating) so that they can use their paid subscription link. Or do you know if their is a one step "register and pay" mod. i have looked with no success.

Thanks

Just installed on 2.0 RC1 ;)

Thanks
Did you install it in the default skin? I'm using 2.0 RC1 as well but it didn't work. I looked in "Features and Opions" and didn't see the box to set the URL for the redirection. Hmm... :o

you will need to edit the theme for your mods to work on it, otherwise you will get errors in the error log..

to find out how, you can use the package paser located right below where you downloaded the mod from.  ;)
