This mod will add a simple moderating color legend bar at the bottom of your forum, customizable for your member/moderating group names.

Please edit the group names to customize for your site.

Nice mod. Can you tell me how can I add a few other legends for my membergroups like V.I.P. and Contributors?

Smoky "Rider" Blue

this is only for staff, greenorama..

if you want to expand your groups, i suggest the member color legend mod.. ;)

If I wanted to use those other mods I would have SmokyBlue, but I want to use this one because I like its simplicity. Can you help me achieve what I asked for? I want also to add another extra group called banned with a line through it banned.

Or you do not know how to do that ;)

i still think you would be better off with the other mod i pointed to..

its not that i do not know how, its if i have time.. my grandmother is in the hospital, and has been off and on for the last 2 months.. she has a short time left here, and real life takes precedence..

i do hope you can either figure this out, because it is simple, or try another mod.. :)

besides,what you are asking for, it defeats the mods purpose.. to display the "staff" on site..

The grandma excuse. In all the time that you posted this long post, you could have told me what I wanted to know. Everything is clear to me now that you do not know the answer to my question. Thank you for nothing. I will not be wasting anymore of your precious time.

Smoky "Rider" Blue

greenoroma,

you could have been polite and said yes, you will try something else out rather than to harass me for something simple. but i guess you do not have manners.o yes, please go find something to do, build your own mod, instead of criticizing me for something my mod wasn't built to do.

now, good luck with your project, maybe the next mod author will take belittling but i wont.

As it turns out I know for a fact that smokey''s grandma is sick. Anyway, your comments in the address of Smokey were uncalled for. I guarantee you that she knows how to do the changes you asked for, she created the mod in the first place after all ;) but the trick to get help in these forums is to ask nicely :)

This was a friendly advice.

OK I downloaded this the mod and installed it via the package manager. I'm trying to update a couple of themes I use instead of the default and am not having any luck. Here's the part of the Boardindex.template.php file right above where I think I need to insert the text of the mod, but I can't seem to find the right spot. Every place I've tried gives me an error message. Any ideas?

   // Show the login bar. (it's only true if they are logged out anyway.)
   if ($context['show_login_bar'])
   {
      echo '

', $txt[34], ' (' . $txt[315] . ')

                  ', $txt[35], ':

                  ', $txt[36], ':

';
   }

   echo '

';
}

?>

Smoky "Rider" Blue

first, always use the code tag ( the " # " button ) so that people can read it a bit better..

this part here:

<search position="before">// Show the login bar. (it's only true if they are logged out anyway.)

means you search "before".

then add this bit:

//The begin of the simple sc mod
if (!empty($modSettings['show_ssclmod_in_board_index']))
echo '

                         |
                        ', $txt['admin'], '
                         |
                        ', $txt['globmod'], '
                         |
                        ', $txt['mod'], '
|

';

if you have issues with it, either go to where you downloaded it and there is a drop box showing you the edits for your theme, pick your version.. or, attach the file and i will add it for you, but it will be tomorrow as today i am swamped with family.. ;)

In your admin control panel, go to manage member groups then edit the group you want to rename.

Chit-Chat ChatterBox Boss

It didnt change the name of the ones at the bottom of my forum page (only thing that changed there was the color when I can the color of the membergroups)

Oops Ive never cracked this mod open or changed the names of the groups before. I didn't realize that it wasn't grabbing the data out of the forums just adding it at the bottom.

./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php

//Start sscl text strings
$txt['show_ssclmod_in_board_index']='Enable the simple color legend mod';
$txt['admin']='Administrator';
$txt['globmod']='Global Moderator';
$txt['mod']='Moderator';
//End of sscl text strings

Dont change the $txt[]= part just the name after. :)

Chit-Chat ChatterBox Boss

I tried that to it didnt change it which i thought was odd and why i came here
