Hi Guyz !

Hope someone can help me out here  .........

I have just "successfully" installed the shoutbox in Version 1.1.10

The shoutbox is visible, but when I type a message it appears in the text box as normal, but when I hit return nothing happens, it just stays there and doesn't show in the shoutbox !

There is a small icon in the top left corner of the shoutbox which looks like a clock, I don't know if this has any bearing on the matter.

Any help would be gratefully recieved, please keep it very simple guyz, i'm very new to this !

Great Shoutbox & Thanks!!  Works great with 2.0 RC1.2 on my custom theme.

I have several questions, Some where ask many posts ago and some recent but still can't fix the problem

1st - How do you change "width" of the shoutbox? I would like to make it smaller & not stretch across the size of the board.

2nd - Getting it to show on "every page" I have these actions working
boardindex
collapsecategory
messageindex
display
post

But I REALLY want it to show in the Admin Panel. That's where I am most of the time.
I tried using "Admin" but it does not work. Any ideas?

Mines got stuck as well the clock just stood there and no message came out... I just refresh the page and it started working, not sure if will work for you.

the 'dot' problem is not a 'dot' problem.. its to do with the sound notification, and its actually a .swf file showing.
to remove it all you need to do is edit the shoutbox.template.php where it says

no problem at all.. only installed SMF a few days ago, and installed the shoutbox this afternoon. I only actually registered on here because I saw that there were people needing a fix for it.

Having a look at the files now to see if I can work out how to get the SB showing on all pages as the temporary fix posted before is not so good.

1: the width of the shoutbox is determined by the css file, not sure if and/or how to change that.

2: admin does work for me (no capital a). You'll need to specify all the actions in the admin panel separately. (I'm using 1.1.10)

That what I said. However, if you are in i.e. Features and options and you want the shout there also, you'll also need to put in "featuresettings"
[img] is not supported (yet) dunno whether it will be supported in future releases.

the img tag thing looks like an interesting project too. I wasnt aware that this sb lacked that feature. I'll take a look at that tonight if i get a chance.

to adjust the width of the SB, you can just add a line to the CSS (as the shoutbox does not seem to have any actual style settings)

just add this line to the bottom of your style.css file in your themes folder to reduce the width and keep the SB centered. Any custom styles should only need the same line added as they are unlikely to have any rules set for the SB.

adjust the width to whatever you feel is a good %, or make it a fixed width in px if you prefer.
