Nibogo my logic has no sense? I was meaning perfectly what Kindred just wrote. SMF Staff worked on this community years long, I know I'm new here, but I don't see anywhere a post from the staff that says "we don't support normal users, if you want buy premium so we will support!". It would be incredible, wouldn't it? ... We all have to thank thousand times this guys are working here. In a community like this one, we have to grown up together, and not alone, so supporting people is a part of it, what I've done in a fps game forum too, when I was a gamesage. If you like earning money through smf, the smallest thing you could do for "recharging" smf, is supporting the users that uses the smf mods. The users after trying your free product will buy your premium version, if the mod perfectly works. Best regards to smf, and nibogo too, hoping you'll take what I wrote like a "tip" and not like an insult..

Yes, your logic has no sense, if a free version is abandoned then the paid version too?!?! And I think I already did my job with the community being a customizer and a support team member, also developing the most important converters (MyBB, vBulletin, IPB) and in the top of that creating more than 30 free mods, including this great shoutbox for absolutly nothing, so yeah you couldn't more wrong and you obviously have no idea of what you're talking about.

If you are here pumping your paid mods, then obviously it is not abandoned.

If you wish to abandon it, then fine..   Stop advertising your paid mods as well

Indeed you did some free mods and i saw them, tho they always advertise your paid ones, strange i've seen a topic i don't know much about in which a guy was arguing with you because you were monetizing a mod that you had created with him while he didn't receive a penny XD
But ok not my business, don't know the whole story (i wish i could get to know, not from you because it's off topic as well), by the way kindred replied, why you answer only to "newbies" like me and Nayabinghi? I bet Kindred would "like" an answer for what he told you, that is the exact same thing we (me , Nayabinghi and others) said.

I do not create mods, but seems a simple solution is to create a policy that could address actions needed or not and that would end the back and forth would it not ?

Chat doesn't work under chrome, with firefox no problem.

The lines appears only if I manually refresh page with browser refresh button.

I didn't have a lot of things to do and can't sleep so there you go with the Italian translation

Hello,

I just installed Shoutbox Pro CR v1.0.6

First, nothing is happening in the shoutbox at all. No messages are appearing, not even any user avatars. All I get is the default background color with no chat messages in it.

Second, the default background color and default text color settings for the message box in the admin panel work backwards. They are reversed. Making the background white makes the text white and making the text black makes the box back. At first I thought those settings changed the main shoutbox background, etc., but now I see those are for the text entry box only and the main default shoutbox background is correct. Nevertheless there is a problem with those 2 settings.

The main issue is that the shoutbox is just not working. If you type in text and hit send nothing appears in the shoutbox window. The wheel spins around for a bit, but nothing is showing up. The messages and everything are showing up in the smf_shoutbox table in the database, but they are just not being displayed in the shoutbox for some reason.

P.S. Ignore the fact I have the shoutbox disabled in the attached pic below. I did that because its not working and I took the pic after.

My SMF version is 2.0.8 which is no different than 2.0.7

I believe you can ask directly Nibogo on his webiste if you own the pro version. Good luck with that. Ah if you are interested in an Italian translation I made it and posted it a few messages ago but I was ignored as I had a bad run-in with Nibogo himself. Good luck with this, as you paid he will (probably) help you with the issue you are experiencing ( I actually didn't even bother to read it as I refuse to help with this topic)

  Real sad that this Mod is no longer supported. I just started a Forum with SMF and looked for a shoutbox and used tis one.
But know can somebody give me a hint for a similar one.

I don't need channels, private chats and all this stuff. I just need something that looks like this one. No big functions needed.
I am not willing to pay for a shoutbox for my 3 guys forum.

There are many shoutboxes around here, this one is the "big deal" you know but like you said no longer supported.

You can try to install it and get it to work, I had to edit something to make it work with no errors but now it does you can either try to install it and if you have problems then you can post here or PM me (I generally know its errors) or if you want to choose another one here you go:

• nneonneo's AJAX shoutbox
• There was another one that I do have but it's been removed (works correctly actually). It was made by EffinToast.

I had two questions regarding the shoutbox. 

#1.  How can I get the timestamp to come on the left so that the username comes after the time?

#2.  Is there a way I can remove the sound completely from the shoutbox without having to have each user hit the mute button?

Thanks I was able to find it.  How do I find the sound file to delete?

Find your shoutbox.mp3 file and just delete it. It should be in your Themes/default folder.

After you remove it, you will probably have to do a hard refresh.

Delete this file "Forum/Themes/{your theme}/Shoutbox.mp3 or either subsitute it with another one.

Is there a way to get the smileys to pop out horizontally instead of vertically?  We have something like 50 smileys and its hard to find the one you would want to use vertically

I had a bug with them and deactivated the whole script. IMHO it's easier to type them rather than selecting them also because I have a few ones.
