Logout problem [solved]

My logout button links to

http://www.habbohood.co.uk/harrypotter/index.php?action=logout;sesc=788b992c3261f16246d5302a4453916d

and when I try and logout it just takes me back to the index, logged in.

If I try:

http://www.habbohood.co.uk/harrypotter/index.php?action=logout

it says:

An Error Has Occurred!
Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

Try clearing your browsers' cookies and try again.

Have you changed your cookie settings, such as local cookies or subdomain-independent cookies?

That worked, thanks. :)

i find that when you first install the forum, and set it up, that it won't allow you to log out. To fix it I deleted my cookies and then it has been fine since then.

I've read several of these threads. Nothing has worked for me. I've cleared my cookies. Changed the cookie name. Changed database sessions on/off. I can't get it to let me logout consistently. Changing the cookie name will let me login and logout once, but after that it starts screwing up again with the same error as listed above.

I always go to www. Other users have reported this problem as well. I'm very concerned because a lot of people sign on from work or computers at their university. Security could be compromised.

Yes, this started happening for me also. However, deleting the cookie did work for me. I'm using subdomain independent cookies btw.

This is still a problem on my forum. I was at a local coffee shop last week and went to my website to see if anybody had been to it before. A user was still logged in so I tried to log them out and it would not let me do this. I went home and tested it again on my machines and the problem is still there  ::)

I'm not even getting an error sometimes (at the coffee shop I did). I've tried to toggle the database sessions and that doesn't solve anything afaik.

I apologize, because i don-t read this thread before.

Me too i have same problem...i write a thread about this in link above:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=29835.0

i have notice about this, when i try to use my account, from different machine, so with different IP like when i switch from Work PC and i connect from Home PC .

Sorry for my bad English.

Still not fixed. I cannot seem to figure this out. =/

Hmmm, alright, well... enough of dilly-dallying around.  Would you be willing to give me temporary FTP access and a forum account (which I may already have on your forum, I forget...) so I can test the issue myself?

My firewall has FTP locked out from IP. It's kinda locked up right now so I can't access it to add IP addresses. (bad timing).

I can, however, make sure you have an account for testing the forum. I can provide you with the PHP files necessary for inspection/editing purposes.

Edit: Changed the name of the topic.  Evidently, it is not solved.

I can log in and log out without problems.  However, you do seem to have the "logout" button showing to guests and registered members...

So, do you think it's a cookie problem? Maybe I changed one of the settings (database sessions) and need to clear my cookies or something? Did you change the keep me logged in for x to something other than the default?

[Unknown]

Well, I tried the default time limit, and I tried forever.  Everything seemed good.

Can you try a page like this:

<?php

print_r
($_COOKIE);

?>

Logout first.

When clicking logout I get:
Quote

I have values for [lps] [louipimps] [sessioncookie] [theme] [cpg132_data] [user] [lang] [phpsessid]

Try recreating my error by doing this:

Login to the forum, then click on gallery. Then go back to the forum and try to logout. I think my coppermine bridge is the culprit.

There is the page you requested.
