I was wondering if anybody here has checked this out? A coworker of mine strongly recommends it. It looks pretty clean, but I noticed the only forum integration they provide is a quick and dirty for IPB.

I can't emphasize how clean it looks, and their snippet concept seems a lot easier to work with than mambo. Granted, I'm not fluent with either CMS so that's a superficial judgement on my part. Feedback appreciated. I'm still in the beginning phases of a mambo integration, and if Etomite is a better choice for me then I'm all for it.

might be worth it if you don't want to do much besides forums, but if you want other portal features than I suggest you go with one of the more popular ones out there.

I like Etomite..or Phase CMS as it was called before. I never pursued it with a additional forum, but as a CMS - top notch. Small and fast, and highly adjustable. Should go well with SMF.... :)

It seemed like a more natural fit for something so streamlined like SMF. You could probably use the SSI with the snippets capability of etomite to have a nicely integrated site.

I'm curious as to whether or not a bridge can be made for SMS + Etomite.

I can't promise anything, but I will have a look.

Don't go out of your way or anything just for me. I haven't decided on a CMS yet. Still playing and shopping. I'd hate to see a bridge developed for me and then I decide to go with Mambo or something.

yeah, not to worry. I haven't got the time right now anyhow... ;)

I used Etomite to build a few smaller sites recently and I must say that it's a lot cleaner and easier to use than Mambo (in my opinion). I was able to write my own snippets and publish an entire site that looked great in about 2 hours flat, including installation time.

I think it would be fairly easy to integrate with SMF since the base installation does not include any user logins or anything like Mambo does (other than the administrator account). The only logins are for the purpose of writing articles and content.

Any takers on making a bridge? Another thing that might be of interest is that Etomite is the highest ranking site on http://www.silktide.com/sitescore with a 9.6. I scored rather high with my SMF pages, but some of my older sites that were done by hand definitely needed some work. Needless to say, almost anything put together using etomite comes out with a high score in several areas. I haven't run the test on a mambo site yet...
