New Message Button Not Showing Up?

Hello all,

In my forum, i can see the new message button in the forums (the blue button that is next to the topic as pictured). I can see it when there are new posts, although it doesnt always show up, but alot of my users are saying they cant see it.

Any idea how to fix this?

Are your users using a different theme to you?

No there is only one theme active

Hmm, What theme is it? Did you make a copy of the original? If you made a copy of the original theme it could be that the changes have affected the original theme and not affected your copy.

It is the classic theme, and i have way to many mods's to revert back to the original

I'm sorry then, I can't really help you, I normally create a copy of the default theme, I thought maybe this was your problem.

In your code,the lines related with the new.gif are really messed up,so that's why i would suggest you,that you should renew your MessageIndex.template.php,otherweise it's hard to correct it

As i see,apparently there is no installed modification,which makes changes on MessageIndex.template.php

Which mods did you install already ?

maybe the new.gif is missing in your Themes/your_theme/images/english/new.gif

Nope, its deffinetly there.

What would happen if i downloaded a new MessageIndex.template.php and overwrote my old one, what settings would be lost?
