Text Profile/Admin Menus

I was doing some searches for the new drop-down menu system which is, technically more advanced and prettier I've found it slower than the pre2.0 text based menus/speed tabbing around.  Is there any way to get rid of the new menu system or is it here to stay?

If I remember correctly there is a setting that allows you to use the old style menu,
it's just that I don't have a 2.0 installation at the moment, so I can't say where exactly...

I actually did find it this morning after not being so dead tired.  It's in the profile options so I'm not sure if it changes it for all users or just admin, but yes it is there.
