Have you try it using other browsers?
Are you using any mods that related to .htaccess (mod rewrite) files?

Is it succeed when you try browser other than firefox?

If you see any .htaccess on your forum directory, maybe you can delete it, or rename it.

Welcome to SMF.

If you didn't make any changes to your forum, then it might be some restriction or setting that your host needs to look into. It should work right out of the box.

Let's try backing up the database using another method (which I usually on my own forum). You can make a backup using several methods. I recommend just getting it directly from phpMyAdmin. Go to cPanel->phpMyAdmin and choose your SMF database. Then click on the Export link. Choose Select All to select all the tables. Scroll down and select gzipped and hit Go. Save it somewhere. That's your database backup.
