Smf Arcade

seeing as this is a different question and doesn't relate to my other post i thought id make another post i hope thats ok,

i noticed there is an Smf Arcade mod....... my forum version is 1.1.9 but its not compatable with that version, if i had 1.1.8 it would be, anyway i looked at the parsing options and it shows 1.1.9 is still not compatable, if i used 1.1.8's parsing code instead would that mess up my forum or will it work?

I had 1.1.8 with the arcade.

Upgrading to 1.1.9 hasn't affected it, at all. So, yes, it should work.

I upgraded to 1.1.9 & lost my arcade.

Tried ot reinstall & get this

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

Have either of you tried emulation?

Add to the end of the url

Got the fix from http://www.smfarcade.info/forum/index.php/topic,5036.msg31604.html#msg31604 (hope the link is ok???) 

Version 2.0.17 fixes it apprently. I had to fix something in modifications.english but the wiki on that site proved helpful.

I'm now back up & running with all the games still in there as before.

well maybe this could help ...when you download any MOD which is not compatible with your version. do one thing download the package and extract the file named package-info.xml...then between the code find line something like this <install for="1.1.6-1.99.99"> and <uninstall for="1.1.6-1.99.99"> .... change it to <install> and <uninstall>. hope this hack will work for you as i use this before on many mods but don't continue if you got any Test Fail...good luck

Your suggestion worked beautifully for me. I cannot thank you even. I wasn't seeing much in the way of help pertaining to the refusal to install. After tons of reading and link following to various sites, including smfarcarde.info [nofollow] I was entirely NOT getting anywhere with resolving this issue until I read this very simple fix. So again, thanks for sharing that!
