Hi members
I suddenly started getting this error when I wanted to post "Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.
No subject was filled in.The message body was left empty"
I tried from yesterday to now and still getting the same message, even other members are having the same error. Then I  tried to log in using another browser after clicked next I got this message"
You should fill in a username
even when the user name is filled.
Please what is solution to these?

Norv

If you can still access the admin panel, please try looking at the error log and post the errors here.

Also, in the second browser, perhaps it's worth trying to clear all cache and saved passwords for the site, then try again. What browsers were you using?

I can't access the admin panel, use IE, Fluck, opera ,cleared all cache yet I can't post, log in nor new member registering as a result.

Norv

What exactly changed since it was working?

Also, you cannot then register another account? Please also post a link to your forum.

What changed are one cannot make new post, Log in, nor have new member registration.
The url is http://www.africatopforum.com

Norv

I meant, what changed right before that happened. Did you install some mod ? Did you install a new theme? Did you (or other admins) do anything? Did your host changed their settings?

ETA: What version of SMF are you running?

I only installed a new theme seven days back it was working fine within these days before it suddenly behaving this way. I do not think that host change their setting because I have another forum with thesame version in thesame server which is currently working fine.
My Version SMF 1.1.10

Is this issue solved or do you still require assistance?  I was able to browse your forum with no problems.  I did not try to register.

Would deleting and reinstalling the index.php file work? Just throwing it out there... not really sure though...

hadesflames

Just two ideas, have you tried
1) changing back to the default theme to see if it works?
2) backing up the forum's database, doing a fresh install, then restoring the back up?

JimM

I think you should definitely change back to the default theme and see if the problem persist.

I can't log in using the forum admin, Using ftp to delete the current theme would it automatically reset to the default theme? or is there any implication doing it this way let me know before i move ahead?

Norv

Please try using the URL http://www.africatopforum.com?theme=1 to have the default theme for yourself. (it won't change it for everybody though), and if it works then see if you can use the forum.

I copied the url it shows default theme as expected, but when i clicked admin to log in the current theme showed, while I tried to log in being the current theme the issue still there even to post too.

Norv

Could you please try: http://www.africatopforum.com/index.php?theme=1 and eventually add

;theme=1
in the address bar to the admin link that shows the other theme again?

alternativly you might try downloading your settings.php file and changing the cookiename  this will log everyone out immediatly but it might take care of the problem if it is an issue with a corrupt cookie

JimM

Can you check in your hosting control panel and make sure your MySQL database user has all the privileges checked.  If you have cPanel, go to MySQL Databases and you will see the list of users.  Click the one for your database and make sure ALL PRIVILEGES is checked.

that sometimes happens with mods that you add. Try using Fix: Message Empty Error For Embed Video Mods

Hope I helped!
I have not added any mod for almost one month now and is working fine before It suddenly started having this problem.  For now I do not have any thing to do with video on the forum.

I downloaded the setting, change the cookie name and uploaded  it back it logged every body off as expected, yet the problem is still there.
