All groups with admin access are free from the limit, even if one is set for them.
Post count based groups uses the default limit set in Features and Options > Signatures.

How to use
To use Membergroup based Signature Limits, download the package from the SMF customization site, and install it via your Package Manger.

error sig_max_lines

line: 906, something like that.
im using smf 2.0 RC1.2

Arantor

Mr. Pirate, the mod does not state it is compatible with 2.0 RC1.2, so it is not surprising there are errors.

Note that 2.0 RC1.2 is now several months old, and has been superceded by 2.0 RC2 which includes both numerous bug and security fixes.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

This is a great mod.  Will there be support for RC3?

Marcus Forsberg

You can try emulating RC2 in your ACP and see if it works. If so, updating this to RC3 will be a 2 line change for me. Otherwise, yes, it will be compatible with RC3 soon enough anyway.

MarcusJ

Emulating RC2 worked perfectly.  Sorry I didn't try that before posting.

Thank you for the mod. :)

Works on RC3 just fine. I have a request. I there a way to restrict the .gif signatures? Just throwing some ideas. :)

There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true and someone would find a way to figure it all out again."

Nas, are you planning to add restrictions to this mod, namely the one I mention above?

Allright, I am telling this because it had potential.

QuoteI'm starting to notice that more and more members are using bigger and bigger images in their signatures. I'm going to have to start enforcing the rules. By enforcing my rules members using images as signatures and/or avatars are to use JPG or GIF format only. Only 1 image is allowed per signature, and must be 50KB or less in file size.

Unless they are donators (VIP)

I hope you understand the potential this will have on your mod.  ;D

Yes I know, that's why I said it had potentials.  :)

Bump.

Bug:
Max signature lines not limiting when editing from the membergroup expect forum and layout > signature

Feature:
"Add Maximum image" count to membergroup
Add the checkbox option to disable gif

Wally.

I'm looking for the best way to limit signatures to people who have at least x number of posts. Does this mod do that sort of thing? And is this the best way to do it?

Sounds like it, just set the sigs for the first group to 0 or 1

Wally.

The way I read it, you can set different limits for Membergroups but you can't with Post count groups. Post count groups all use the same default value. So I'm trying to find out if I read it the wrong way from someone thats used it.  :-\

Sakae

Up! I can't change admins limit. They're all set to "0" (default limit), but I want to set more chars and lines for us.

How?
