Well I've tried resolving this problem but still can't find a definitive solution.
The Mod is installed and the configuration is ok.I also checked the box where it says run fake cron job.

My questions are, does it do everything automatically?
Do I need to do anything in control panel of server?
If so can someone give me step by step instructions please.
This link confused me even more;

I'm still not receiving posts and I'm uncertain as to what is the error.
Any assistance is very welcome.  :(

Yeah you need to setup a cron job which is a scheduled task. This can be normally setup though your webhosting control panel such as cPanel

You would need to execute this file http://www.yourforum.com/cronrss.php
You can run it manually in the browser yourself. But what a cron job is it runs it automatically on a schedule that you set.

OK please bear with me as I'm no programmer.
I've attached an image of the cron section in my cpanel.

What happens when each feed requires a different time for posting? How is that set up in both main cron panel and mod panel?
Can you tell me what the option for html is in the admin part of the mod?
And what do I enter as the command for the cron job?

Please help me resolve this as it's a nightmare...... :-\

When I insert the cronrss.php file in my browser it gives a 404 Not Found message.  ???

cancasa

Can anyone help me get this working.  ???

cancasa

Working now after setting up cron in cpanel.
I got the impression that the posts were done automatically once mod was installed without having to do anything else.  ???

I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

What settings did you put in the cron jobs?

vbgamer45

500 error you need chmod cronrss.php to at least 755

I know the mod creator has put 'no further support' on this but can anyone tell me how they got it to work? Exact settings please?

cancasa

Ok
First, install the package, then got to admin>feed poster config.
Then, using the "cron job url" on that page, open your server cpanel and gp to Cron Jobs.

Then select settings for times you want feeds to be activated.
On "command" section, enter "php /home/yourusername/public_html/forum/cronrss.php"
Your url will be different but make sure you enter your username ie if site is deli, com then enter deli.

Go back to admin of forum panel and select add feed.
Then enter the details requested in the form.
The times of the main cron settings in cpanel overides the admin settings so remember that.

I only enabled feed in this form and in previous form I selected "all" for feed download method.
Also I unchecked fake cron jobs and it works fine.  :)

Thank you cancasa. I was inputting the URL incorrectly (using http://yada....)

Hey cancasa, hope you can help again. I have 'html' enabled in the admin settings for the mod but when a feed is posted it displays the html tags.

How do I suppress the tags and have them parsed correctly in the post?

cancasa

It's a bit of trial and error.
Uncheck the html box and see if it changes anything.
What I found is that some feed work fine and others don't so it's a case of finding the right combination.  :)

madfitz

I had a bad feeling that might be the answer. Unfortunately we can't set it on for some feeds and off for others!

Thanks for the reply anyway  :)

I had problems with one of the feeds not posting and found that it was the only one that had html enabled.
Once I deselected it,the posting worked correctly.  ;)

I just installed this mod as well.  Seems to work fine with the exception of two issues,

1.  No access to settings via admin control panel (there is a new blank space where I assume the link belongs).  I saved the page as a favorite and return to it this way.

2.  I can't edit or delete or delete feeds.  I get the following error:
QuoteMethod Not Implemented

GET to /forum/index.php not supported.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I edited the permissions to 777 and  I get the same result.

Does each feed have it's own settings file that I can just delete?  Is there a workaround to this issue?

Thanks,
Ray

All (3) of my feeds have just stopped posting. No apparent reason. They just stopped  ???
