hello every one..
so.. I might be VERY CONFUSED with SMF forum..

1 year I have installed this forum and all the time I have problems..
only problems..

Fixing one problem.. and after I am getting message that new version is available and I HAVE to upgrade older version.. so after.. and so goes on.. I am not catching even the 1 month to work STABLE on forum !

canI use so that I may dont want to UPGRADE ?.. how manny upgrades can be done ?.. every 2nd day >.,, ?.. ..

in the last problem, I had the problem where , due to posting message I was recieveing the message that I have to update Database.and run the las updatedatabase.php..  so I did..

but now ,.. something happend.. I dont know..
when I am entering password and username during when I want to Log In

I am redirected to ABSOLUTELY BLANK PAGE:

like this : www.mydomain.com/forum/PHPSESSID?....................... [nofollow]


I thought that the PHP session was rejecting me.. I went into database and deleted all temporary session Inputs.. but any way..
same problem..

can someone give me an ADVICE ?..

Upgrades for SMF 1.x are to fix security holes, not add new features. If you would prefer the development team not try to patch security holes, just let them know, as I'm sure they'd love the extra free time. You don't have to upgrade, you know.

On topic, try running the Repair Settings tool -- What is repair_settings.php?

Okay I did everything without repair..
I went manually into Msql SMF Sessions table and removed temp sessions..
but now..

I reinstalled forum successfully.. but my html entitles wouldn't converting to Georgian letters... I am converting to UTF8 but anyway... it dont works..
only there is a little strange thing.. everything is converted inside boards and categories.. but exactly Category names ar not..

CAN SOME HELP ME ?..

I'm sorry.  It's really hard to follow what you are saying.  What is your forum's default language?  Have you tried installing the latest language pack for 1.1.11? 

Did you get an error when you tried to convert to UTF-8?  If so, can you post the error?

Now I checked out and it seems like the General inside text is converted (posts, board theme names and e.t.c.. )

but some of texts (like the main board names) are not..

how can I understand this ?..

My language is Georgian..

now I have deleted whole forum and installed freshly.. but the same !>..

You might try to replace your language pack with the most current one for your language.  The language packs can be found here>  http://download.simplemachines.org/?languages

there is one "BUT" ..

the 1.1.11 version doesn't have its supported georgian language pack..
can I install the previous language packs to this newer forum version ?.. as I was doing in the last time ?..
for example. : forum version 1.1.11.. and language pack version 1.1.9

there is NO Georgian unfortunately .. in the past time I was able to find.. now I am not.. ..

The older version "should" work on 1.1.11

Try installing it and see if you get any errors.

I did that wat.. the Menu bar changer succesfully..
but the problem stays on.. the names in still undefined text..

There seems to be an issue with the 1.1.11 language packs.  We are looking into it.

I renamed each board manually..
but each time I have same problem....

when I am installing new forum soon I am having the EMPTY settings.php file..
why this happens ?..
my ISP told me I had virus and my ftp password was stolen.. after we changed password and it is happenning again ..

I called yo my ISP a lot of times.. but there is only thing they apply to do within is CHANGE FTP password...
I am pretty sure it is not about password crap..... there is some more thing...

You are experiencing database errors on your new server, and due to a catastrophic bug in SMF, this results in an empty Settings.php. copy Settings_bak.php over the empty Settings.php to get going again. Pick a solution: chmod 444 Settings.php (make it Read-Only), or follow the "fixes" link in my signature and fix the code.

If you're immediately getting lots of database errors, either you're somehow incorrectly configured, or your new host isn't very competent. If you can run for a while before the errors strike, I'd say it's the latter.
