Random Thread

Hi.
On my forum, I like to encourage people to post in old, abandoned threads, potentially bringing those old threads back to life (at which time I can move them out of the archive and back to a more centralized portion of the forum).

What I'd like to have is a link in the menu that simply says "Random Thread" which would essentially do what it says: take the user to a random thread. There are so many old threads to choose from on my forum that it could be a fun feature to have. Anybody interested in throwing this together?

I'm using 2.0RC3

perhaps, in the admin panel, the mod could generate a new option where the administrator could set which boards/threads would be subject to the random link.

i'm not sure if it would be beneficial or harmful for search engines to have access to content delivered via the random link. that's for someone more knowledgeable than me to decide.

I offer a random image attachment banner that might work for ya. It links to posts that have thumbnail attachments.

I'd find this useful aswell, would be good as a fully fledged mod with all of the options listed above...

thanks for the pointer, madman. however, i'm not sure if something of that nature would really meet my needs as i'm not skilled enough to implement it in its present form for the purposes outlined in the original post.
