G8... thanks for this great mods.
Can u add some counter of how many percent again till the server will overload, adding a little counter system maybe? So we can prepare if this will happend.

Sory for my bad english Bro  ;)

1. this isn't possible please take a read of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_%28computing%29 for more info about 'unix load'

2. even if it WAS possible to do it would be impossible to determine when the server will be overloaded next

v2.5 - 20th August 2010: Selectable 'load' amount option added to admin settings (Default is 3.00)

Question:

Obviously, this will tell you pretty accurately if you are the only one using the CPU (i.e dedicated host)

How would it report for a VPS or shared hosting?
For a VPS, does it measure your share of the shared CPU or does it measure for all sites on the VPS?

thanks

p.s. The default is 3.0.  Is that considered extensive cpu  usage?  Probably a hard question to answer.

a vps has it's own virtual cpu so the load will be YOUR load on that vps not the host machine

Hi PaulpBaker,

Several themes do not detect the Close gif. How do I change it to use only letter X instead?

Thanks.

Thanks alot.

A few members panic a little when they saw the new warning as they do not know what it means and what should they do. Hence I changed the message:

$txt['text_server_load_check'] = '<b>High server load detected.</b><br />The forum may be running a bit slow.';

Is it possible to auto-close the Warning after 3 secs?

This mod has a spam link in the readme. It also has an unused file. I'm on a reporting rampage.

I changed my mind. Since you said you were going to rectify the problems I'll leave 'em alone.

yes they have all been updated plus it wasn't a spam link it was just a link that died plus there's no need to report my mods one by one for something so silly (that could've been sorted with a simple pm)

hamsterdaddy

Dumb redundant question from newbie user time:   ::)

So I could use this to check how well my "unlimited bandwidth and memory" account with Go Daddy is actually working?

Depreciated

no this is for linux server load not bandwidth/ram:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Load_(computing)

this is also best for dedicated/vps servers

hamsterdaddy

I may not have phrased the "Q" right, my hosting is Linux, but shared, will this tell me when the server I am sharing is over-loaded?

Depreciated
