I tried to upgrade from SMF 1.0.5 but got this error:

I can't imagine how you would get that unless you modified something...

If you run it again, do you still get it?

Hi

The install wen OK, but there are few issues.

1. There is one issue however (and apologies if this has been mentioned before), that affects me under Safari and Firefox (v 1.0.6) on a Mac (haven't tried other browsers yet, but I'll let you know). In the admin panel: Registration : Settings

I've set an "Age below which to apply registration restrictions" and then I've saved and then chosen "Require parent...". However, the following boxes "Postal address..." etc, remain unavailable. I.E. I still can't input any text.

2. I am getting sporadic 406 errors when viewing teh forum. Usually, when first navigating to the site and then when clicking the registration button.

"406 Not Acceptable
An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server".

Obviously the second one is especially serious. Any ideas?

Thanks

<EDIT> Actually I am getting 406 errors constantlyt now. It seems to load the site initially and then upon clikcing any other link, it gets the error.

BTW I tried http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=34270.0 and I ended up with a 500 error.

Having problems with mod_security? should help.

Ben. We've cross-posted. See my link above, I already tried that solution. Also, this has only started happening the second that I updated to the 1.1 beta. 1.0.5 has been running on that server for months.

Other than the package manager are there many other bugs?

I have been using it for a few weeks now and I haven't noticed anything besides that

I also have a problem with Calendar, if that's something that might be of interest.  When I go to Calendar in the Admin Panel I get a completely blank white page.

Just upgrade to Beta3, easy, nice looking, smooth and fully costumize, perfect navigation for admin :)

But, mostly my forum visitor feel that this version slowly than previous 1.0.3. Especially visitor who have slow internet connection.
They told me, that always refresh 2-3 times each time displaying the forum or thread :(

At error log, many errors found like this:
8: Uninitialized string offset: 0
File: /home/forumbebascom/html/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 1726

After look at those file (subs.php), there is code
// Do any smileys!
if ($smileys === true)
parsesmileys($data);

What it does mean?
Note: I only using Ultimate ShoutBox, Image Shack, and Online User Today mods and default Themes..

Anyway, thanks for the great new SMF 1.1.
I am understand is still beta. But i am happy using it

Regards,

PS: Tonight I will find and look something cause slowing down the forum. Maybe, going back to the 1.0.5 :)

Never mind found it :) Eactly what I needed  in  1.0.5 version

For all others its in Admin - Forum - Boards -  Settings

From original post :)

I read here  that 1.1 would show the child forums count as a total for the  parent forum on the front page. Has this been implemented or left out for later?

As for the  install it went well with no glitches. Just so you know I'm running

Slackware 10.1
PHP 4.3.11
Apache 1.3.33

Thanks

Strange.  This might mean cached script.js?

I'm certain this is mod_security.

I think I'm going to need FTP access to look into your issues thoroughly.

I'd bet your errors are causing the problems, but I'm not sure what to tell you about the ones you're getting.  Do you use Dreamweaver?

NOS ChromeNut

;D This was one of the easiest installs I've had yet for a new forum. Took less than thirty minutes total, including setting up the new mySQL database and all!

Maybe the problem on my host server. I will check again.
The speed still slow from previous.
I will try clean install tomorrow (not upgrading).

Thanks for help.

I still got a ways to go before its done.

One question how many groups can the board handle? Later on Im gonna want to let users create/run  their own groups so that they can trade between group members.

Do you mean membergroups?  As far as I know, it's unlimited.

Ok heres something else

If I create a topic in a child forum using Firefox then I open IE the On image doest show on the main page but only on the sub forum listing page.

If I post in the parent forum then the On image shows fine on the  front page. Im not sure if its suppose to be like  that or did I screw somethign up?
