Didn't know if this has been noted or not, so I thought I might throw a note somewhere.

When I view SimpleMachines Community on my iPhone 4 with Safari, there are quite a few display issues, this popped up at RC4, I believe, with the changes to main_block.png.

Not sure if this has already been discussed or not.

I can confirm (iPhone 4 Safari as well) that it breaks around about the menu, and the footer is a little messed up. But Labradoodle, thats what WAP, WAP2, and iMode is for ;)

Matthew K.

I don't want to have to use WAP or WAP2 mode on my iPhone.

The header's not 100% right in iPad Safari either, but I've seen the same problem on a bunch of sites and a bunch of themes, so not sure what to make it that yet. Haven't bothered digging too hard, and I don't even look at the footer :P

Yeah, I don't think I've scrolled down to the footer intentionally on my phone. It's really not that big of an issue, but I did want to point it out.

Screenshots might help, too. iPad's currently downstairs so I can't get screenies.

I went ahead and took a screenie on my phone and shot it to my email. When I receive it, I'll attach it here.

That gap is also there in Firefox 3 (but not Firefox 4)

It's not a big deal but it's there on iPod Touch 4G too..

That's exactly what I'm saying, it's not a big deal, but it is a problem, if the developers want to look into it.

maybe this thread should be moved to bug reports and maybe the developers may notice it there.

It appears I can't move topics from this board yet. But I could just submit it as a bug if I wanted...

Indeed.

And it's there on Samsung Bada 1.1 too (Dolphin 2.0 for mobile). It's based around Webkit though, so is the iPhone's Safari.

Sure it's not because you have an outdated version of Flash or not at all? There is meant to be a banner ad there isn't there? In Flash, and iOS doesn't support it by default...

Which has nothing to do with it; Firefox has flash support?

I'd suggest this be moved back to Site Comments unless someone can prove that bug still exists in the same way on a fresh RC5; that happens just after a block introduced specifically for the team.

Interestingly the exact bug you're referring to does not occur on an iPad, though there are graphical glitches on the buttons at times (which does occur on a fresh install, and I'll screenshot it later)

I'll try on a clean iOS 4.3 installation. They said Safari got better ???

EDIT: Hell yeah it's gone.

And when you do, test it on a fresh SMF install, not this one.

Interesting as the OP was referring to this site.

Yes, and then this post ended up in the Bug Reports board, which it shouldn't be in unless the error the OP has demonstrated can be reproduced on a fresh install... which means unless it can be reproduced, back to Site Comments it goes.
