looks like with this mod installed, the auto replies gain the ip address of the post it is replying to, which can cause issues when doing ip checks on users. is it possible to put the bot replies to a set ip address or leave it blank? on my forum i use my account to send out the auto reply so my user has ip addresses of a good chunk of my users which is incorrect.

All Colours Sam

OK, thanks for the report, I will check on this shortly.

Is there anyway in the personal message i set that the username its responding to appears as part of the message rather than in a "generic" way.

i.e. instead of having:

"Hi there and welcome to the forums, blah blah blah..."

It would have:

"Hi someuser, welcome to the forums. Blah blah blah" <<< replacing the "someuser" with the members username

All Colours Sam

leegreaves   This mod does not create any personal messages,  maybe you are confusing this mod with another one.

Perhaps it is PM to New Members that is being mistaken for this one.

No i didnt mean as a PM, what I actually mean is when your mod auto responds to the board ive set it to reply in, is there any way that I can set it so that it has the posters name as part of the reply so that it feels more "personal"? If not perhaps this could become a potential feature in a future update.

All Colours Sam

I don't follow you...  you want the response being made by the same user who created the topic?

MAS think about it this way, in the moderation center we can create warning templates that use things like {MEMBER} {MESSAGE} {FORUMNAME} {SCRIPTURL} and {REGARDS} it might be useful to have those here so we can make the auto reply more personal.

    {MEMBER} - Member Name.
{MESSAGE} - Link to Offending Post. (If Applicable)
    {FORUMNAME} - Forum Name.
{SCRIPTURL} - Web address of forum.
    {REGARDS} - Standard email sign-off.

All Colours Sam

Ahh!   sure its possible  :)

What other variables do you want to use apart from {TOPIC_POSTER}

maybe {TOPIC_SUBJECT} or {POSTED_TIME} so you could do something like, thank you {TOPIC_POSTER} for posting {TOPIC_SUBJECT} at {POSTED_TIME} we will read and reply when we get a chance.

All Colours Sam

OK, I'll work on that later this day :)

New version 1.0.3:

ChangeLog

-22/09/11 Version 1.0.3
   Added some predefined words:
      - {TOPIC_POSTER} will be converted to the poster\'s username
      - {TOPIC_SUBJECT} The subject of the topic.
      - {POSTED_TIME} Time/date when the topic was created.

To upgrade just uninstall the previous version and install the new one.

If you feel in the mood for manual upgrades, just download the new version, unzip it and replace the Sources/AutoRespond.php file and /Themes/default/AutoRepond.english.php  with the ones from the new version.

Nice work and thanks for the updated version. Any word yet on when you may have a version where you can have different messages on different boards?

All Colours Sam

It's still on my to do list, I haven't thought on how I gonna do this, I'm thinking a table to store the different responses along with the board ID where those responses should be posted but that's about it.
