Only showing colons in profile

Im sure this has been discussed before but I cant seem to find an answer on the forum, I have the latest version of smf and I have modded the core theme css nothing drastic. I noticed today that when I view my profile almost all of the titles for each line of the profile are missing and only the colon is present, oddly I get similar issue in one or two other areas of my forum, for instance not all of the descriptions are shown for attachment options when making a post.

Now I have had this problem before some time ago with an older version of the forum and I just cant remember how I solved the problem back then, Im sure its something really simple but its eluding me at the moment, any help appreciated.

Link to a profile on your forum, or a screen shot?

Do you get any errors on the error logs after viewing these pages, particularly any undefined errors?

Seems Im getting lots of errors but this is the one i got a few mins ago while trying to view my profile....

Problem with lanaguage pack im assuming looking at that error?

Admin -> Server Settings -> Disable evaluation of templates
Then post any new error messages without eval in them

There's got to be some kind of issue with either your language files, or language settings.  Just my assumption until more info is provided.

Ive checked every line in the profile template file where an error occurs and all but one contains a $txt[] variable, I have also changed my language pack to English British utf8 as my db is set to utf8 but no change.

After more poking about I have found that using the default theme (Curve) I have no problems what so ever so I assume from that there is no problem with the language files as the settings are the same.

If your core theme has it's own Profile.template.php file, try renaming it to   Profile1.template.php  , and see if anything happens.

Ok that has solved the problem with the profile template file but i still have the issues with other parts of the forum not showing descriptive text, im guessing doing the same with their template files should have the same effect?

Oddly, I checked the smf 2 download, and noticed the Core theme doesn't have these,  so they must have been manually added by you or someone at some point.   Plus i noticed you were using Ultimate Profile, which the MOD doesn't make any edits to the core theme, I believe.   Reason I suggested renaming the ones you had , so they would by default, use the default's files.   

Make sure when you add MODs, any edits that are made to the default theme files, if any of those are on the core theme, you have to make the same edits to that theme.  This is one of the reasons I don't think many even useor allow members to select the core theme on their forums.

or maybe those files are left over from a 1.1.1* install? in that case make sure only 2.0 versions of those files are on your server for the core theme.

Odd thing is I just installed the forum straight out of the box as it were, fresh install no update. I built the forum up with the default curve theme and then changed to the core theme to mod for my needs, all i modded was the css, images and a small tweek to the index.template.php to remove some bits and bobs I didnt want nothing more.

But its all sorted now so thats the main thing, a simple fix that hopefully I will remember if it happens again
