Hi... I want to add some html codes below each post.. how i can do this???
please help me...

kat

First, go to your BBC configuration and enable html.

Only admins can use it, though, because there are security risks.

gumboy

Actually, i want to add for all posts.... like fb buttons etc.. so, tell me for it...
thanks in advance...

Illori

if you want to add like buttons, check the mod site there are several that will add it for you.

gumboy

i want to add other links and buttons below every post, so please tell me.. what i have to do..???
thanks in advance...

Illori

well if you dont tell us WHAT exactly you want added how can we read your mind to tell you where it has to go?

NanoSector

I guess what gumboy wants is to add a custom button below the posts, which isn't premade.
Before digging into that, I also would like to know what the buttons need to be used for. Having some ads below posts can be quite annoying.

Use a portal (ie. Simple Portal) & create a php/html block with your needed content while configuring it to appear below posts.

Heh, thanks, I don't like to command around and say like "Don't do that, 'cause I told ya so" but I'd figure it was quite interesting useful to say with it :P

Oh, some of the things that people ask for make me think "You're having a Bacardi! (Rhyming slag) That's gonna make people think "******! No way would I EVER join a forum that has that in it!".

I've managed to bite my tongue, thus far... ;)

I don't know stuff about the block system of some portals, but isn't that block type below the first post? Or has it changed?

?? With any portal one should be able to configure a html/php block to appear at the bottom of each desired page.

For Simple Portal, for a bottom block one would select Advanced Options & configure it for Actions & Boards.
ie.
Actions: Recent Posts, Updated Topics & Recent Unread Topics. (Also Post if they want it when someone is creating a post)
Boards: All of them.

.. that will produce the desired effect for the OP.

Ah, lots of things changed since I last used blocks, I see :P
Well, then that's the correct advice.

they said at the bottom of the posts not the bottom of the page

You are correct, I missed that part.

Very well, hmm.. just so it works with all theme's I'd say an easy way is to edit Sources/Display.php

For SMF 1.1x or 2.0.x
find:

return $output;

replace with:

        $output['body'] .= '<br /><br /><div>This is a an example of text appearing below each post</div>';
return $output;

Replace the text with the desired html or whatever. The extra div can have style attributes added.

Ads below post are annoying but super annoying is making ads look like post.  Breaks the whole train of thought and looks like a spammer got in to me.
