Limit the size of and image in the signature
« on: July 21, 2013, 09:11:23 AM »
I am familiar with smf's Admin Center > Features and Options > Signatures > Max width & height of signature images.
I have mine set to 500 * 100.
However when I link to a photo that's 520 * 500 the 520 * 500 size shows in the signature.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I have a similar issue with the avatars. A buddy of mine has written a script that automatically re-sizes uploaded avatars. But here is the catch, the externally hosted avatars aren't re-sized.

Maybe that might be the issue. I dunno for sure, since I had occasions that SMF re-sized it. But a possible issue is that the image is not hosted on your server.

I guess I'm doing nothing wrong and setting the width and height of the image allowed in the signature by admin is only for the text informing the user of the size admin hopes they keep the image to.
