An ignore user function

I would be neat if there was an ignore this user button and if a member clicked it. They would see all  posts from the person they wanted to ignore as collapsed.

I don't like this idea. If a not-ignored user replies on a ignored-user, you don't know what he's talking about...
If you don't want to read a post from a certain person, just don't read it. That's not that hard. :)

my friend has been bugging to make a mod like this for a while...
That would allow an admin to 'mass-ignore' a user so no one can see that users posts... but the user thinks they can... like a punishment... that and a mean joke ;)

I have a friend with a forum that has an "ignore user" feature.  Say, if I put Jeff on ignore I wouldn't see anything that he posted.  (I wouldn't really do that.  :D)   Anyway, on this board sometimes things get really heated and it helps that some members can just ignore other members.   Of course the person that is ignoring sometimes has the flow of the thread interrupted (when the ignored person posts) but some of them think it is worth it to not get continually upset over things a member posts.

It is kind of evil, but I like the one Tyris said his friend wanted----very evil indeed.   ;)
