ugly quotes after upgrading to 2.0.2

after upgrading my forum last week to 2.0.2 the quotes are ugly like below.  is this something i can fix or is it something with the theme?

Did you update your theme as well? Are they supposed to be like that in the theme?

I don't know what theme you're using.

i did not update the theme since it worked but i can try that easily enough tomorrow. 
the theme is helios multi.  i do know they have an updated version. 
i will give that a shot later tonight or tomorrow.  thanks

Helios is only meant to be for SMF v2.0.

However, I have it on my test site and it works, perfectly.

Try checking the theme's paths.
