Need some help.

First of all, I'm new, so sorry if this is the wrong section or something.

I'm an admin, not the main admin, on forum which was recently created under smf. I installed a mod, Ultimate Profile, but I don't know how to start using it. I fixed the permissions as well, but I don't know where to go to start using the features.

Also, I have a couple requests.
a) A mod that merges double posts made within a time frame measured in MINUTES.
b) A mod that makes it so coloured names appear everywhere, imcluding posts and profiles, not just the online list.

I'm using 2.0.2

As the mod was designed for v2.0, it MAY not be compatible, though I suspect it is.

I found this in the topic: After installing Ultimate Profile, I did what I'm sure you've already done:  I went to Admin----->Features and Options------>Ultimate Profile.  I checked the box to " Enable ultimate profile for all members".  Then I went ahead and checked to "Enable uploading of pictures" and also checked to "Allow profile customization" and "Allow media box".  I saved those changes.  Then I went to Admin-----> Permissions and, in each member group, checked to allow them to "Edit ultimate profile".  

But when I went to features and options, the Ultimate Profile option wasn't there.

When you installed it, did you use emulation?

If you did, it'll be best to just add another post to that topic, mate.

I don't know what emulation is.

I went to the link, downloaded the most recent version, then uploaded it onto the forum. It was a winrar zip file.

Ah...

If you install a mod which is designed for an earlier version of SMF, than the one you're using, it may not work.

It's a bit like buying a carburettor for a Ford Model T and expecting it to work with a Thunderbird.

When you try to do that you should always remember my sig. Then, when you do the install, click the "Advanced" thingy and select "Emulation" and set it to emulate the version that the mod is designed for.

(If that makes any sense?)

In the emulation thing, yes.

Let's try to explain it in words of one syllable, here...

When you do the mod install, you go to Packages and all that.

On the "Package Manager" page, scroll down to the bottom.

You'll see the word "Advanced", yes?

When you click that, you'll get a new section appearing, which says "Sometimes packages are locked to early versions of SMF but remain compatible with a newer version. Here you can choose to "emulate" a different SMF version within the package manager.".

Under that, you'll see "Emulate Version:". With that, select the version of SMF THAT THE MOD'S DESIGNED FOR.

How's that?

When I go to my profile, I get this: An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to load the 'UltimateProfile' template.

Ultimate Profile should work on 2.0.

Did you get any error while installing the mod?

emanuele, the forum is 2.0.2, but I used the emulate thing that K@ explained. And no, I haven't gotten any error messages.

Downloaded UP (the third package, the one named "ultimate_profile-0-9-1_20.zip"), installed and no problems: I can see the profile, change it, etc.

From the image you posted and from the error I'd guess that all the files that should have gone to the Themes/default directory (including the language files) have not been copied properly.
So you may want to try to decompress the zip and upload (via ftp) the files that you'll find in the Themes directory to the corresponding location on your server.

Oh, when I check the first box in the modification page, the one that's cut off, and then go to a profile, it says that it's unable to load the UltimateProfile template, if that has any significance.

I don't know what FTP is. :/

Ah... Trust me, website stuff is a LOT easier when you use FTP.
