installation Stalls out and stops

Hello,

ive gotten my server provider to set us up with a Mysql server instead of MSSql, but i am still unable to get past instillation. i have uploaded all files to our site, moved all files out of smf)_1-0-5_install into their own folder. I would then get the messege about certain files needing permission. i contacted our tech support and they solved the permission problem.

Now when i point the browser to our site i get the first page of the installer ( where you put in all the info and MySQL info, passwords, etc.) all is well untill i fill out all information and hit "proceed". The browser will start up  to do its thing, but then i get a solid gray screen with the SMF logo and SMF link on top and thats where it stops.

How do i solve this? i have tried every combination of passwords etc. i can think of and problem still continues.

Assistance would be greatly appricated.
