Any plans on making Calendar On Top work with 1.1?

Sheepy

Updated Enlarge Font to 1.1 RC 2, so it updates Babylon instead.

Hello, Capital Title To Title Case is working very good, but our charset is iso-8859-9, and we have some capital characters as İ Ğ Ü Ö Ç Ş, and it doesn't work in these cases, do you have any suggestions?

thanks

Sheepy

Now that's tough.  I know how to do it in Java, but PHP 4 & 5 has very limited locale processing support.  I think you'll have to add it manually into the captilisation routine.  That should be easy if you know basic PHP.

Tried the calendar on top mod.
I received an install warning.
I installed as a test and in the latest topic section it reported a topic from last year.
I removed the mod and all went back to normal.
any ideas what the problem is?
using SMF 1.1 RC2

This is what it is reporting when I try to install

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

Changes calendar to display on top of forum, under header and news roller, so everyone can see who's having birthday.

If there are no events, the calendar won't display.

Tested on SMF 1.0.5

Install Actions
Installations actions for "Calendar On Top":
Installing this package will perform the following actions:
   Type    Action    Description
1.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/BoardIndex.template.php    Test failed

I removed other mods and tried a reinstall.  I receive the same message. I went ahead with the install one more time and it is now showing the latest post as it should. I am still concerned regarding other glitches that may show up.

I installed, saw no change, uninstalled and now my database is "causing me problems." Using 1.1.2.

This mod isn't for version 1.1.2 and thus shouldn't be used.

That would be the conclusion, yes :) Although it does not help me at this point. I'll have to do a major rollback, and reapply all the mods and changes since my last backup and try to rebuild the system.

Hindsight is 20/20 they say. I do hope you had a good backup. If not you can try to repair your database with the repair functions offered in phpMyAdmin.

SMF vs. Godzilla? Who do you think will win?

tsmalmbe

No, really not a prob. I was just kind of frustrated last night. I run my testserver virtualized,  so it was a quick copy-paste from the previous version, a comparison with the production site regarding installed mods, and then just scp:ing the local modfified skin-files from my hard-drive to the testsite. Easier than I thought, yesterday was frustration speaking.

I really do recommend running a virtualized testserver. Pressing the "take snapshot" button just before a mod-install has been a lifesaver before (and without doubt, will be again). Reverting to 5 minutes before takes 30 seconds..

It is good that you had it virtualized. I too highly recommend testing locally - doing so has saved me from making all sorts of mistakes in public.
