Hi I've screwed up my file permissions on my server for smf. What should the file and directory permissions be?

Thanks

Illori

what makes you believe you have screwed them up in the first place?

Generally speaking, if you go to Admin>Packages>File Permissions and set that to the "Standard" profile, everything should be OK. :)

I performed a chmod 600 on the entire directory recursively.

http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Installing#Set_File_and_Folder_Permissions

QuoteOn most servers, a setting of 755 for folders and 644 for files will work.

Thanks K, I managed to fix it using 755 and then going into the permissions module.
