I'm getting a token error when merging a thread in one forum with a thread in another. The list of topics shows up fine but when I click merge I'm getting the standard authentication error. This seems like it's easy to replicate in all of my sections.

Anyone else havnig this error?

what is the exact error you are getting? i just did a merge on my 2.1 test forum without any issue. also which version of 2.1 are you using and from where? mine is latest [as of 12am this morning] from github.

I'm getting the standard "Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again." Although I just tried and this time it didn't actually load the topics in the target forum, it just came up with that message straight away. You bring up a good point though - I think the version I'm using is actually from GitHub from a couple of months ago. In terms of updating, would you happen to know if you have to reinstall the entire forum from scratch, or is there a way to update only the necessary files while keeping settings and the like intact?

but you are going to be moving the upgrade.* files from the other folder not the install files.

Ahh, nice. So you can just update like you would any SMF package? I'm guessing that will lose all the mods I've installed though, right? Not that it matters too much, it's pretty simple to bring them back. I'll try it now and let you know how it goes.

correct.

Finally got everything back in working order, and the error's disappeared! Sorry for the hassle, I'll try updating if I see anything like it again in the future.
