It sure can't look good to newcomers viewing the SMF support site, if this is what they see (and it seems to be happening more and more)

As that email is in the SFS database surely the "vanilla look and feel" policy at SM.org should be relaxed to include antispam controls?

As I said, it sure doesn't look good :(

^-- the spammer, with his well known spam email address, shouldn't have been allowed to register in the first place (which is my point)  ???

I wonder if the spammer would've gotten through if Bad Behavior was installed.

Antes

I agree, I think its time we should install one of the well known anti-spam solutions here.

Kindred

1- we do not use third party connections in the default installation
2- we do not install mods (for the most part) here

3- once we move this site to 2.1, with multi-lingual questions, the spam will decrease

So no...   we will not be installing SFS (which I use myself, but is KNOWN for a lot of false positives - which could hurt us more than a little spam, which is quickly nuked by our attentive staff.)

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

also even SFS and Bad Behaviour does not pick up on all, people can still break through and do the above
