Hi,

I've followed all the steps on upgrading my forum from version 1.1.21 to 2.0 and now I'm stuck.

It says to navigate to xxx/forum/upgrade.php but when I type that in to my browser it says 404 not found.

Please help.

Illori

did you upgrade the large upgrade package? it contains the upgrade.php script.

diddyskipper

Yes I did.  I've just uploaded it again and it is still saying not found.

"yourdomain.com/forum/upgrade.php." is only an example.  Do you actually have all your SMF files in a directory called /forum/ ?

diddyskipper

Thank you.  I didn't realise that it was just an example.

Can you tell me how to find out where my SMF files are located?

Where on the server did you upload the upgrade files to?

An easy way is to go to your site's main index page. Does it say yourdomain.com or is there something else added after like yourdomain.com/name of another folder here?

diddyskipper

Thank you for your replies.

The truth is I don't know where on the server I uploaded it to.  I opened up a connection on the FTP client and typed in the username and password as directed and the files were just uploaded.  When I log in to strato the host site and go to the FTPweb bit I can see the files but I don't know how to find out from there what the url is that I need to run the upgrade.

Files aren't 'just uploaded'.  You have to select the correct directory where the forum is installed.  You can view your account directory structure with the ftp client.
