INTRODUCTION*
Legends of Nor'Ova is home to, well, Legends of Nor'Ova. I know I know, duh right? Well Legends of Nor'Ova is a table top RPG game, and the website's "wiki" is that game. The site's wiki is powered by the very nice and rubust articles and category tools provided by TinyPortal, and the downloads is of course provided by TinyPortal. The community and RP forums are of course powered by the very wonderful SMF forums.

The website is also home to the forum post-to-play game called Legends of Nor'Ova: Children of Ablution. It is a free form story sharing experience set within the dystopian 5th Era, a time beyond the great magic apocalypse where the very world is lethal and those in power eagerly climb over the weak to remain in control and comfortable. The setting is derived from the Saga of Ablution campaign for Legends of Nor'Ova, and all of the lore, settings, and history come from that.

So in all, the website strives to be a place where you can slip away from reality...

Please Note: I 'might' have an old topic floating in this showcase forum from many many many years ago. I don't know if I do though.

Veee

Congrats, it looks great!!

Looks great! I see you do have a valid SSL cert. I recommend you mandate it for all users in the htaccess. Then you should address all of the mixed content things on the page because for most browsers it will show that the SSL cert is not valid. HTTPS will actually load way faster than HTTP too. I connected to your site with HTTP and it was a very slow connecting but I was able to recieve the whole page quickly with HTTPS.

See no green lock. The Javascript console should reveal what on the page is mixed.

You also have a 404 with your favicon. Everything else looks nice!

A fellow RPGer! Your edits look good.

Thanks everyone,

Linkjay, I'm not sure what I can do about all of the mixed content. The font one is really the only thing possibly in my control atm - but I'm not 100% sure on that as I think that is either provided by SMF or TinyPortal. If it is provided by the theme though I should be able to resolve that. I'll have to look into it. The affilate banners I have no power over since those sites aren't yet using https. Maybe you have some tips on how to deal with such things?

Also I need to get a feel for how to fix my htcaccess file for that. I tried a simple trick with it and kept getting the too many redirects error. But yes, I agree it needs to be done. Fun fact, I thought I had set up a redirect through the name supplier for that... I wonder if that is causing the too many redirects error? More research...

Thanks Looking! Roleplayers unite!

Make sure everything is correct and https in the repair_settings.php. Then you should go through the index.template.php for your theme and try and find anything that isn't https in there and set it to that. If you still have mixed content, you will need to dig deeper within the SMF software files.

To make everyone have https, use this code in your root htaccess.

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://www.example.com/$1 [R,L]

I got it from THIS link. If it doesn't work, maybe try one of the other ones on that link or use THIS Google link for more. I haven't tested those because I normally just use CloudFlare for https and https redirects. I know there is a working htaccess redirect out there too. :P

Though the fonts wouldn't be proxied because they're fonts and should just have the URL updated, and I'd be surprised if the affiliates' images would be pushed through the proxy either.
