Hello,

I applied a SSL certificate on my domain and I was able to get my forum working on https:// adress. At first it was a mess, but I managed to correct all the problems by changing the links in SMF administration center and replacing the links in the database. As far as I can see, all is going well for my forum so far.

Still, I cannot click on "Force cookies to be secure" option in the administration center. It is disabled and I don't know why. I need assistance on this point. And I am open to any further advices in order to make the necessary changes after a SSL certificate is installed.

Thank you in advance.

Regards.

I believe the only way for that to be disabled would be if you invoked the page without https://.

So...   Try again, and see if your URL is https://.

If your URL does not start with https://, you probably need to double check your boardurl (& all other URLs) in repair_settings.php.   You should also consider a redirect so you never end up without https://.

Hope this helps,

Unfortunately, the option is disabled although I view the page through https:// adress.

I checked settings.php and the URL there is https://, however I could not find repair_settings.php. I also searched for it in my public_html files, but I believe it is missing.

Thank you very much for your assistance. I was able to view the settings through repair_settings.php. However, all of the URLs show https:// adresses. I didn't see any single http:// adress.

Is your Settings.php file writeable? I just changed mine from 644 to 444 and lost the ability to check that box.

Worth checking...

I checked its permissions and it is 644. I tried different variations but I had no luck.
