phpBB-SEO to SMF
« on: February 20, 2018, 01:35:11 PM »
I was asked by a customer to migrate his existing phpBB-SEO forum to SMF. Now my question, is it possible to migrate a phpBB-SEO forum to SMF, is this any different than migrating a phpBB to SMF?
TIA

Is it just phpBB or is it a modified version. Is the SEO part a plugin and do you need to keep it?

That's the problem, I don't know if this is just phpBB or a modified version and if the SEO part is a plugin. There is nobody there that knows. It seems as it was made with phpBB-SEO from the start, but the link on the forum to this website does not exist any more. The SEO part does not need to be kept. The forum is a very old version but at the moment there are issues with the log in and I can't look up which version it is.

I would try the phpBB3 or phpBB2 convertor depending on the phpbb version and see how it goes.

@Tonyvic
thank you for the links. The version of the forum I have to migrate is definitely older than what they are talking about in the phpbb forum. phpbb-seo.com is not existent any more. And if you ask question about phpbb-seo in the phpbb forum this is like a red flag.
I just want to find out if it is possible to migrate the old existing forum to SMF.
