SMF and WP issue (about .htaccess)

I've installed SMF forum on my WP site in diffrent folder, the forum works very well, but some links on the forum (usually icon pictures) give 404 error. I know the situation is due to htaccess, but I couldn't figure it out, even though I tried every way. Please provide the necessary information below, please help me find a solution.

As for your problem....  it probably is the htaccess -- the one that you have is hugely (and probably unnecessarily) complicated -- but I have no idea what, specifically, is wrong.

Try removing the whole thing...   if things then start working, you know that the issue is the htaccess and then you can put it back section by section until you find the section that is causing your probelm

htaccess content is necessary. Because i use WP Fastest Cache plugin. That's why htaccess is huge. By the way i try to delete htaccess but same result. After that, i use standart WP htaccess but same result

Well, it seems that something in WordPress or your specfiic setup is preventing SMF from running properly.

Honestly, wordPress is a beast and tries to take over your whole site, assuming it is the only ting running.

I'd suggest installign your forum in a root subdomain instead of just a subdirectory
