Forum gives a 500 when posting

We are having a problem with our forum, every time someone tries to post or preview a post, the forum comes back with a 500 error. I went through the post word by word and it's just the word "from". Whenever that word is on the post I deleted it and everything is fine.

I checked the error log and it shows nothing.

Any ideas of what it might be?

Disable mod_security

That's a little drastic. Wouldn't that leave my site vulnerable to hacking?

The mod_security filters are way over zealous and ends up causing more problems that it solves. Mod_security is mainly to prevent from poorly designed applications.
