Connection Problems on Xampp on Mac

Hello there,

I logged into  my xampp i got  this message:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I upgraded to the latest xammp on mac and no difference.

Any suggestions as i pretty much screwed!!!
