Ah, it is good to come back to this little piece of software....

I am pleased to announce and show off my little RPG community built upon SMF software - Legends of Nor'Ova.

It is a forum dedicated to post-to-play dark fantasy in the world of Nor'Ova, a world long ago brought to destruction where magic now reigns. The world is on the cusps of destruction once again as a long dormant dark god has begun to awaken. It is a forum aimed at the adult role players simply due to the things that can happen in a world plagued by darkness.

The forum is using SMF 2.0.19. I stuck with the older version for now because of the need I have for the subaccounts mod.

A little backstory I guess is needed? I had gotten terribly busy becoming a dreaded adult and ended up backing away from forum roleplay for a while. Not terribly long ago I wanted to remake my RP forum, but I wanted to do it in a way where members had accounts for their characters to play as instead of posting profiles and the like. I first looked at SMF and saw that the subaccount mod wasn't supported in the 2.1 series and that there was no new version being made, so I went looking elsewhere. I ended up with phpbb, but hated my time with it.... So I decided, I'll use SMF and hope that in time there'd be a subaccounts mod for the new version when it comes time that I have to upgrade to it. Thankfully, SMF is quite conservative with the upgrades lol. But seriously, who do I need to throw money at for this mod?

Anyway, the forum sports a heavily modified version of the default curve theme, that I've named NorOvan Curve. It also sports the following mods:

It has been fun getting under the hood of this software again.

To be honest, I don't see how your theme is:

a heavily modified version of the default curve theme

Granted, everything is recolored and the category bar is redesigned but it sports the same icons, the same navigation menu, the same icon legends, etc,

While we now have some leeway in allowing themes based on the default theme, I personally cannot approve this because of the reasons stated.

It's a very good start, but I feel you need to make it more 'your own'.

Maybe another team member will feel different.

After input from one of our customizers who felt you have done a lot of work and only suggested changing a few more colors, I'm going to go ahead and approve this. I still think you should give some thought to changing the areas I mentioned but as it is, it's still a well done job.

I appreciate that. I am working on some icons (the others I was going to use didn't look good...) and want to introduce zebra stripping and some other effects. But as far as menu navigation... I'm not sure I want to change that.
