I asked because I've been messing with SVG lately. It's ideal for flat colour images, and the fun thing about it (or one of them) is that you can set class and ID for any path in the svg, and not specify colours in the svg itself. Then you can set colours by class and ID, just like any other HTML element. Although obviously this only applies to inline images, not to CSS background images.

But still, for flat colour images SVG has the advantage of scaling up or down without pixellation, and if you wanted to do several variants you can easily edit the path fill colours yourself. There are free online converters which will convert raster images to svg, and seem to do a very good job.

It was a free watercolor JPG (102 kb) background I found and I used Paint 3D to modify the colors to match the theme. Then I used this site to compress it down to (50 kb) and then WinZip Image Manager to convert it to WEBP (14.3 kb).

Probably a lot more steps than I needed to but I'm still learning all the gadgets on these softwares and apps...lol!

Just tried it. The converter made a total mess of it.
Still good for basic icons though.

Honestly the quality check that the SMF Team does on themes and/or mods is simply amazing compared to other forum software.
