Hello,
I don't understand how "recent post" (with "?action=recent") work exactly.

Well, ok, I understand that it displays all messages in antechronological order :)

But, what are the limits in time, in number of messages? Can this be adjusted? Currently on my forum (not really active), this part displays 100 posts, the last one is more than a year old, which doesn't seem "recent" to me.

The list of "recent" posts is tailored to every user individually. If you visit the last page of a topic, it is removed from your list. If you mark all topics read, your list will be emptied.

EDIT: No, sorry - I was thinking of the unread lists. My bad.
The recent posts list simply allows you to go backwards in time for a 100 posts, and shows all posts you are able to access up to a 100 posts all together
